Club Nintendo goes beyond playing cards and offers up a Majora's Mask CD.

This year's Club Nintendo's 2013 Elite Status gifts give members a choice between multiple downloadable games, a calendar, a CD, or a set of three posters.

Platinum members, users who have earned 600 coins during the Club Nintendo year, can choose between a set of posters, a CD, or one of the Gold status gifts. The poster set includes three posters featuring Pikmin 3, The Wind Waker, and an 8-bit Luigi. The CD is a soundtrack of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

Gold members, users with 300 coins or more earned during the year, can choose to redeem their status for a calendar or one of multiple downloadable games. The 2014 calendar features artworks from multiple games including Animal Crossing New Leaf and Nintendo Land. The downloadable games available are Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword (3DS), Super Mario Land (3DS), Super Smash Bros. (Wii), The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX (3DS), and WarioWare D.I.Y. Showcase (Wii).

Physical gifts will be shipped by December 31 while downloadable games will be available at time of redemption.

I'm torn between Wario Ware DIY and the 3 posters

Get the posters and just buy the game.  No contest. :D

My eye briefly ran over the calendar but then I saw the Majora's Mask Soundtrack.

Ordered and done. In before it goes out of stock!

Those posters are awesome.

Hmm, Majora's Mask soundtrack! I still have the one I got a long time ago (through Nintendo Power I think?):

but it's definitely missing MOST of the music from the game. I would love to have the entire soundtrack, as this Club Reward claims to be.

Hmm...looks like you got a different version than I got way back when from Nintendo Power, because mine came in one of those cardboard sleeves and did have all the music from the game. My Ocarina of Time one, though, did not.

@broodwars

Wow, I had no idea that Majora's Mask complete soundtrack even existed (Nintendo Power version you say?).  :Q I don't know how I missed that one...

purevalJuly 15, 2013

Leaning towards the soundtrack. Will probably pick up the calendar on ebay. I really like the Wind Waker poster, but the other ones are pretty bleh. That Pikmin one is going to be impossible to find a frame for. I hate when they do that size.

I believe the original Nintendo Power CD set was part of a set that came with a special edition version of the game along with a year's subscription to Nintendo Power.

When your best Platinum reward is a reprint of the soundtrack to a 13 year old game, that's just sad.  I reluctantly went with said soundtrack despite already owning it just to get a newer/better-quality CD, but it's just another "meh" year for Club Nintendo.  Still, it could be worse: wasn't last year's a poster set or freezer-burned DSi leftovers, and the year before that ****ing PINS?

Hey! The set of playing cards from last year was sort-of nifty.

Went with the soundtrack, because it was kind of the only thing that appealed to me. Thought this might be the year I get the calendar...

StrawHatChopperJuly 15, 2013

I can't wait to get the soundtrack CD. Majora's Mask is one of my favorite Zelda games ever, so this is perfect for me! Once I rip it to my PC, It'll sit nicely on my shelf next to the Ocarina of Time OST that released alongside OoT3D.

If Nintendo was awesome, they'd toss in the Majora's Mask track from the Symphony tour. :D

BlackNMild2k1July 15, 2013

is there anyway Nintendo can just refund my points and let me use them at half value towards platinum for next year?
Platinum should atleast get a pick at 2 (yes two) of the gold status gifts. especially if they are just from the infinite stockpile of the downloadable games.

sadly, nothing on that list appeals to me in the slightest.
I guess I'll just have to pick what may be the most collector-ish of the bunch...

when is the deadline to chose the gifts?

August 15.

StrawHousePigJuly 16, 2013

Son, I am disappoint.

I'm thinking poster set, give 'em to my kids. The Luigi one should keep them from asking me to paint a matching Luigi to the 8-bit Mario I painted on their wall.

So...anyone know if the Majora's Mask soundtrack is orchestrated, or is it the music directly ripped from the game, N64 whines/bleeps/bloops and all?

I may just bite the bullet and get an eShop game if it's the latter.

As this just seems to be a reprint of the CD I already own, it's the game's MIDI files ripped to a disc.  No orchestration whatsoever. It's still good music, though.

It seems, Smash Bros. is the ONLY logical choice...... I guess...... ::)

AdrockJuly 17, 2013

I definitely would have picked Super Smash Bros. if I could play it on Wii U with off-screen play (or even 3DS). I considered downloading it into Wii mode on the Wii U (rather than the original Wii which I haven't transferred) but I realized, I'd have to use the Classic Controller. Pass.

Sakura Samurai was my original choice until I checked it out on The Youtube. It doesn't seem like my kind of game. I'll probably go with Link's Awakening DX. I never owned that version. I read that the extra dungeon wasn't great, but I'm interested in trying it.

jarodeaJuly 17, 2013

I've actually liked the Platinum gifts given out in prior years but this year is a big meh.  It's the first year I didn't get platinum (didn't get gold either) so my fears they would have SNES VC controllers or something cool were for naught.

I'm struggling between smash and sakura samurai
any advice?

WahAugust 12, 2013

majora's mask!
;D
FFFOOOCCCUUUSSS BBBLLLAAASSSTTT!!!

BlackNMild2k1August 12, 2013

I reluctantly picked the poster set since there was no offer that actually interested me.

They should just offer a coin value or points card next year instead if that is all the effort they care to put into their reward system.
