Super Star, Dream Course, and Dream Land 3 coming on the 23rd!

Kirby Super Star, Kirby's Dream Course, and Kirby's Dream Land 3 will be arriving on the Wii U's Virtual Console service next week. By doing some snooping on Nintendo.com's Game Database, you can see that they have added eShop profiles for the three games with a release date of May 23, which is next Thursday.

Kirby Super Star was a Super Nintendo game released in 1996, and featured eight different Kirby games with their own unique twist to them. Kirby's Dream Course, also released for the Super NES, was a 1995 game that involved manipulating Kirby in a miniature-golf fashion around several courses and obstacles, in order to reach the goal under a certain amount of strokes. Kirby's Dream Land 3 is the Super NES sequel to the Gameboy hit Kirby's Dream Land 2, and was the last first-party release for the system, released in November 1997.

All three games will cost $7.99 each, and will be eligible for the discount price of $1.50 if you have previously purchased the games on the Wii Virtual Console.

I still believe that $7.99 is WAY too expensive, especially when emulating these games is so easy. How about $1.50 for NES and $3 for SNES games? That's much more reasonable. I'm fine with N64 and Gamecube games being more expensive. But, let's me honest, these games are short, and 25-35 years old.

'All three games will cost $7.99'

I read that as meaning that you could buy all three games for $7.99, which I thought was a pretty good deal. After reading paleselan's comment, however, I realised that I had misunderstood.

There are definitely some SNES games I would pay $7.99 for (ironically Super Metroid would be one of them), but the only Kirby game that would be worth that price point to me would probably be Dream Course.

Yeah, my bad. Clarified the last paragraph.

These games came with a buy 2, get 1 free promotion in Japan a week or two ago.  We may get something similar, seeing as Nintendo is not opposed to running VC sales over here any longer.

Kirby's Dream Course is so good. Very hard, but a really cool idea for a "golf" game.
