Get ready to hunt monsters with your European and/or American friends.

The update for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the Wii U that enables Off-TV and cross-region play is due to arrive April 16.

Off-TV Play allows the game to be played on the GamePad alone, without the TV. Cross-region online multiplayer lets Europeans play online with North Americans and vice-versa.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is available now. You can read Alex's review here.

I'm actually really amped for Off-TV play. I have four kids. If they can all be entertained by something on the TV or otherwise (without using the Wii U), I'm in the clear. Monster Hunter has been neglected because of this.

Can't hurt to have. I use my 3DS version for those nights, but if I don't feel like transferring the data, this will be a nice secondary option.

Kind of hoping they would increase text size in both games... but not a huge deal.

Yeah, even on the Screen the Talking Text is a little small.

This is a big plus for me. Hate waiting for my wife to finish up The Voice, Vampire Diaries and other such none sense. I need this feature now.
