Nintendo is creating a HTML5 friendly development environment.

Nintendo Web Framework is being revealed at the Game Developer's Conference (GDC) this week.

Nintendo is holding a panel today about Wii U development with Nintendo Web Framework at the "Nintendo Wii U Application Development with HTML and JavaScript" panel.

Nintendo Web Framework allows development using HTML 5, Javascript, and CSS. It supports Javascript extensions along with Wii Remotes and the Wii U GamePad. The goal of Nintendo Web Framework is to create far faster development cycles on the Wii U for games and applications.

I'll admit, I only took 1 programming class in college (C++) I wasn't a fan so I've mostly kept my distance from these programming things and therefore don't really understand why/how this will speed up development time, but either way...

I LOVE THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO CUT DEVELOPMENT TIME ON GAMES!!!

This is mainly for applications but Nintendo wants to lerage it toward games and the super ubi Land dev said this should help a lot since the game is coded in html.
I really like the logo as well

Really keen to find out more about this, currently developing in HTML5, CSS and Javascript. Would be awesome to get something to play with on Wii U.
