And what else does Two Tribes have have in store for the future of Toki Tori 2?

Toki Tori 2 for the Wii U eShop will support Off-TV, allow the GamePad to become a "virtual camera," and makes use of the touch screen as well.

In a blog post, Two Tribes reveals what features the Wii U version of the upcoming Toki Tori 2 contains. Off-TV is available, and when playing on the television, the GamePad does not serve as a mirror of the on screen action. Instead, it displays where Toki Tori is "in the current scene," and the songs the player has found.

The game also has a Tokidex, a feature that catalogs the creatures and items of the world. To capture images of these, the player uses the GamePad as a "virtual camera," aiming it at the television screen. Not everything can be photographed, with Two Tribes noting that the discovery of what you can shoot is a puzzle in itself.

Lastly, the GamePad's touch screen can be used to navigate the pause menu, and to place pins on the world map.

We've reached out to Two Tribes for further details on some of these features.

In discussing what ships with Took Tori 2 on release day, Two Tribes also spoke of what won't: the game's level editor will arrive at a later date via an update. Also, while it will have a Miiverse community, Two Tribes intends to take better advantage of the Miiverse should the opportunity present itself. While not a feature of Wii U's social service now, the developer mentions trading created levels through Miiverse if made possible in the future.
