Nintendo opens their E3 press conference with a demo of Pikmin 3.
Today during Nintendo's E3 press conference, Shigeru Miyamoto opened the presentation with the first showing of the much anticipated Pikmin 3. This is the first time Nintendo has spoken of the game in a meaningful way since last year's E3, where Miyamoto originally confirmed that Pikmin 3 had moved to Wii U.
New features mentioned include: HD visuals (of course), a new Pikmin type which can break hard objects without having to blow itself up, a flying Pikmin, and Pikmin can now build bridges, the game features up to four leaders, a challenge mode with a time limit.
The Wii U GamePad is used to give the player an overhead view of the map. This helps with jumping around between various groups of Pikmin. Another feature of the game is that you can record a complete replay of your playthrough, this makes seeing ways to do better easier.
