Wii U Supports Two GamePads

The biggest question of the Wii U is finally answered.

The Wii U will be able to use two GamePads, Nintendo America president Reggie Fils-Aime confirmed during Nintendo's E3 press conference today. Up until now, the Wii U had only been confirmed to support a single GamePad, and Nintendo had not commented definitively on the issue.

While the Wii U will support two GamePads Nintendo will be focusing on "single GamePad" gameplay during their E3 presentation, so we may have to wait a while to see two GamePads in action.

Don't know if it'll be posted, but it was also announced that it'll get the Dead or Alive Dimensions treatment; using two Gamepads will cap them at 30 fps, apparently:

Makes sense, that way devs don't need to leave spare resources for a second pad in a game when most people will play with only one.

Still don't like the name gamepad, that's what controllers are called by PC gamers (gamepads as opposed to joysticks)

I was glad to hear this, the announcement of the Pro controller made me start doubting that it would happen.
