European Wii Shop Losing Some Downloadable Content

Six Virtual Console games and one WiiWare game will be disappearing soon.

The European Wii Shop will be losing six Virtual Console games as well as one WiiWare game at the end of this month.

The list of games the shops is losing is as follows: 

-R-Type (Turbografx)
-Super R-Type (Super Nintendo)
-R-Type III The Third Lightning (Super Nintendo)
-Vigilante (Turbografx)
-Ninja Spirit (Turbografx)
-Legend of Hero Tonma (Turbografx)
-Military Madness Nectaris (WiiWare)

The games will be disappearing off the service on March 31. However, if you had previously purchased the game, it will be available for you to re-download.

Hmm... I might need to man up and buy Military Madness. Loved the TG-16 version, and it would be a shame to miss out on this release if it gets pulled from WiiWare in North America too.

You'll get more enjoyment out of the Ninja Spirit Retroactive than playing it, methinks.

All those VC games are made by Irem.  Did they get bought out by another company or something like that?

At least they gave some advance warning this time, in case anyone wants to buy them before they become unavailable.

Yeah, something happened to Irem but I don't know what. Kinda sad since they made the first game I bought for my Game Boy back in the day (R-Type).
