Nintendo and Capcom Join Forces in Distribution Deal for Resident Evil Revelations in Europe

4th October, 2011 – Hot off the heels of the recent partnership to distribute Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, Nintendo and Capcom® have today confirmed that they have entered into a new distribution agreement for the forthcoming game Resident Evil™ Revelations, scheduled for release exclusively on Nintendo 3DS across Europe on 27th January 2012. Under the terms of the agreement Nintendo will be responsible for the sales, marketing and distribution of the game throughout European territories and Australia, with Capcom remaining as publisher.

Resident Evil Revelations heralds a return to classic Resident Evil gameplay and is packed with terrifying moments and an intense canon storyline, all in stunning 3D.  Set in 2005, Resident Evil Revelations contains new content that answers questions and reveals truths from the main Resident Evil storyline between Resident Evil 4™ and Resident Evil 5™.

The all new narrative builds tension and the fast paced action delivers a constant fear of the unknown, all brought to life in 3D. With a mix of favourite faces, such as Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, as well as mysterious new characters and enemies, you’ll be constantly wondering who to trust.

Jill and Chris, both members of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA), have new partners; Parker Luciani and Jessica Sherawat. Each team must investigate different angles of the bioterrorism threat in Europe at the same time as working out how their bioterrorist enemies are able to stay one step ahead of them.

Explore a variety of mountain and coastal locations as well as a dark and deserted ocean liner to discover the truth. With horrors and unknown threats around each corner, you’ll need nerves of steel to search claustrophobic rooms and caves.

Resident Evil Revelations has been specifically designed to make the best use of the Nintendo 3DS capabilities. Use the Touch Screen for quick, direct weapon selection and item usage while the shooting system has also been enhanced to bring you right into the game, allowing you to switch from third to first person perspective. The game is also compatible with the new slider pad, a second circle pad with two more shoulder buttons, enabling you to interact with the environments in new ways.

In true survival horror style, you’ll need to endure time-sensitive challenges, solve puzzles and escape deadly horrors, from sinking ships to zombie onslaughts. Utilise the Nintendo 3DS Touch Screen to crack puzzles and store items that don’t fit in your inventory as well as keeping track of locked doors you can’t yet open in the Game Notes. Armed with a Genesis Scanner, you can now analyse enemies as well as exploring areas and revealing hidden items.

With time running out to reveal the truth, are you brave enough to venture into the unknown? Find out how fearless you are when  Resident Evil Revelations launches across Europe on 27th January 2012, exclusively for Nintendo 3DS.

I can't wait! And the date makes me happier as well! I was under the impression that it wouldn't be out till around the end of 2012, but now it's at the beginning, SWEET!!!!! If the the game os played like Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D like the I was told, (in addition to the extra circle pad attachment), then I'm gonna love this game!

Boo-yah! I'm super excited for this, especially after the fun I had with Mercenaries.

People had fun with Mercenaries? :p Just kidding, although that game does look fun if you get it for cheap.
