Xenoblade Chronicles Facing Stock Shortage

One retailer already cannot fill the sheer number of orders.

Nintendo of Europe's supply of Xenoblade Chronicles is being heavily outweighed by demand for the title, according to online retailer ShopTo.net.

The simple, slightly cryptic message was tweeted by the store earlier today: "Due to the unexpected late demand for Xenoblade Chronicles the publisher has experienced great stock shortages of this title."

Little is known about the nature of the shortage, and as of yet, no other stores have claimed to be unable to fill the number of orders for the title, but with today being the first day the game has been on sale, similar reports could appear in the near future.

Yes, Europe! YES! Help your gaming brethren from across the pond to get these games!  :-*

Hmm, it really depends on how many copies were shipped. If this retailer only got like 5 copies, then it's not a big deal that demand was greater than supply. Still, this is good news.

I really hope the import total is small for this one...

They probably produced a really small number of copies to ensure that the game would not sell well so NoA doesn't have to release it. /conspiracy

Oh I just posted this in the Xenoblade thread:

I really don't blame them for keeping volumes of the game low. Displays in GAME and Gamestation (owned by GAME) for anything other than Modern warfare, Battlefield or WoW is little to none existent. I hunted for Endless Ocean 2 on the day of release and was met with "No"'s and "What's that?". When I bought Galaxy 2 from GAME (yes I normally order online but I had trades so shoot me) They'd not even put it on the shelf yet. It was lunch time.

It really gets my goat.

My copy arrived this morning along with the red classic pro. Only got to play for about 20 minutes though.

Interesting to note that they didn't specifically say "we have short supply", they alluded that it was the publisher itself is coming up short compared to order numbers.

Whatever the reason, this bodes well so far. When it comes to Australia I'll be getting my copy.
