Catch fish in exotic locations, head butt your way to success on Virtual Console, play baseball, and more in this weeks games. 

This week download aficionados have five new games and a demo to choose from on WiiWare, DSiWare, and Virtual Console.

First up on DSiWare is Anonymous Notes: Chapter 1 - From The Abyss. Published by Sonic Powered, the RPG takes place in a monster-filled dungeon where players must ultimately fight a powerful boss. The game offers replayability through randomly generated dungeons. Combat includes the Soul Capture move, which allow you to steal weapons and magic from your enemies. The game is available now for just 200 Nintendo DSi Points ($2). 

The second DSiWare title this week is A Fairy Tale from Lemon Games. In this puzzle game, player must help a trio of faeries save their village, which has come under attack. Players must use the stylus to tap on small squares and solve a hundred different puzzles. A Fairy Tale retails for 500 Nintendo DSi Points ($5). 

The final DSiWare game is Absolute Baseball, which is arriving just in time for the start of the baseball season.  From Tasuke, the game is a baseball simulator where players get to take on the role of a team’s manager and make the big decisions that help make a team either float to the top or sink into the abyss. You can increase the stats of your players with points earned from past games played. Play ball for 500 Nintendo DSi Point ($5).

The sole entry on Virtual Console, Super Bonk, was originally released on Super Nintendo in 1994. Bonk returns with all his old moves including the head butt and can now transform into a giant sized version of himself. Play the first Bonk adventure to grace the SNES for 800 Wii Points ($8).

The one brand new title for WiiWare is Planet Fish from Ludia. Shoot bubbles at cute fish using a underwater vessel. Once the fish are captured you can then display them in your own private aquarium. There are over thirty areas to explore, but be careful because evil jellyfish and other devious sea creatures wish to stop your fish collecting adventure. Planet Fish can be yours for 500 Wii Points ($5).

WiiWare also received a demo version of A Monsteca Corral: Monsters vs. Robots from Onteca. This third person strategy games features a cute race of monsters known as the Stompies fighting a invading army of robots. Get a taste of the action for free.

Showers or no showers, the onset of April brings another round of new downloadable games for Nintendo systems. The Super NES™ favorite Super Bonk is now available on the Virtual Console™ service, giving Wii™ owners a fun new way to enjoy the hard-headed fun of the classic series. And as real-world baseball comes back to life in ballparks across the nation, the Nintendo DSiWare™ service offers the hand-held excitement of Absolute Baseball, challenging players to guide their own customized teams to big-league victory. Dark dungeons, fairytale adventures and exotic fish add even greater variety to this week's lineup.

It's interesting to see SNES games in these late-era VC releases, as the platform was always underrepresented considering its massive, awesome library.


It's uninteresting to see things like Natsume Championship Wrestling and Super Bonk as the selections.
