The Nintendo 3DS remains the best-selling video game platform in Japan for another week.

When the lives of many Japanese slowing returning to order, software sales are starting to increase slightly in Japan to levels previously seen prior to the recent earthquake.

With many titles planned for release this month delayed due to the natural disaster, the best-selling games in the country are all games released earlier in year.

The best-selling Nintendo 3DS game was Gundam The 3D Battle from Namco Bandai, starting its chart life with sales of 23,500. Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask and Nintendogs + Cats can both be found later down on the list with sales of 16,300 units  and 13,200 units, respectively.

Besides Pokémon Black and Pokémon White at position 10, the remainder of the top 10 is dominated by software for Sony's platforms, led by Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection at the top spot.

Outside of the top 10, several titles continue to exhibit strong legs. Both Donkey Kong Country Returns and Wii Party, which were released last year, rounded out the week with sales of around 8,500 copies. Mario Kart Wii and New Super Mario Bros. Wii can also be found in top 20 with sales in the 5,600 ballpark.

The Nintendo 3DS was the best-selling piece of hardware this week, though it narrowly edged out the PlayStation Portable by less than 300 units. The PlayStation 3 also edged out both the Wii and Nintendo DS for yet another week.

Ah, okay, the PSP got a FFIV release, that's why its numbers jumped up.
