Previously listed as a retail release, Koichi Ishii's next title is now slated for WiiWare.

The last time Line Attack Heroes was shown to the public was over a year ago, at Nintendo's E3 2009 booth.  Today, Nintendo launched a new website for the title, where they announced that it will be released on WiiWare in Japan on July 27 for 1,000 Wii Points.

Previously a retail release, Line Attack Heroes has you collecting allies who fall in line behind you.  As you defeat your foes some will join your line, and special enemies (the titular heroes) will grant you access to special weapons.  When your line is long enough you can use line attacks.  Line attacks allow you to swing your entire line like a sword, have your allies charge forward with spears, or hammer the ground in front of you based on the class of weapon you're using (sword, spear, and hammer respective). The game features a story mode, which can be played cooperatively, as well as competitive battle modes like Battle Royale, Flag Battle, and Tag Mode.

No announcement was made regarding foreign release. However, seeing as the game was shown at E3 2009, a western release seems likely.
