Nope. This art style is still a major turn off and keeps painting a negative picture of Square-Enix (mainly the Square side) for me in regard to Final Fantasy and Nintendo systems. This keeps screaming to me that Nintendo systems only deserve kiddfied spin offs in terms of look and/or content. Crystal Bearers while having an okay look is very simple in terms of content in the end. Childish actually looking back at it now that time has passed. That it came out looking the way it did I think was a fluke.

I think this game looks sweet, its and old school looking final fantasy game with final fantasy sounding music, for those like me who hate the newest installments this is great, it looks simple but cool and the gameplay looks great

While I greatly dig the art style, I kind of get where NeoStar9X is getting at. Then again, Final Fantasy XIII. I'd much rather take Matrix developed remakes (and on the Enix side, Level 5 developed games) then another XIII quality game.

And Crystal Bearers. God damn it I do not want a game like that again.

From an art perspective? I could get that. I did really enjoy the game itself, but I was one of the lucky few to play through the whole thing with four players. We just had my friend's youngest sibling be the bucket holder slave, so that wasn't a hassle.

I think you're referring more to the Crystal Chronicles on the 'Cube. I think Peachylala was talking about the Wii game, Crystal Bearers, starring Layle and his "force" powers.

It is impossible for them to create a game like Crystal Bearers because I have no idea what the hell that game was.

SarailJuly 14, 2010

It wasn't Final Fantasy, that's for sure.  Although... there WERE Chocobos..

There was also that armless Moogle thing.

From what I understand the game is balls-hard, so it's not exactly kiddified in design.

I love the look of this game and am very excited to see a Final Fantasy game using this engine that isn't a remake.  I hope it's great.  I kind of wish they numbered it. :)

The game does indeed look beautiful. I wish this was for the Wii instead though.

You're right, my mistake! Oh god, Crystal Bearers.

Oh god, Crystal Bearers, is right.  But oh man... that final boss battle is incredible!
