Capcom is using its MT Framework to develop the handheld title.

4Gamer has revealed that Capcom is using its MT Framework, used to create titles like Resident Evil 5 and Lost Planet 2, to develop their upcoming 3DS title Resident Evil: Revelations.

The goal of using the MT Framework is to achieve console-quality visuals on a portable system. Looking at the trailer below, they seem to be well on their way to achieving that goal.

There is no release date currently set for Resident Evil: Revelations.

That doesnt look like CG, it looks like a real time cinema running off a ps3 or 360. I'm not thinking that 3ds can handle visuals like that, but if it can than hell yeah. I remember the character models on Resident Evil remake were niceley detailed but that backrounds unfortunately were pre-rendered, and of course with that comes Residents Evil's atrocious control scheme. With a smaller screen the environments dont have to be as detailed. Shaders make boxes look pretty.

Actually, I'd be willing to say that's the graphics in real-time.
3DS looks to be similar in graphic capabilities to some of the earlier Gamecube games. Check out the blockiness of Chris' fingers or shoe, they're way nicer than an N64 polygon count but somewhat falling short of current-gen home consoles. The lighting and superb texture mapping are what make the models impressive, and I have no trouble believing this is what 3DS graphics are able to pull off.

This trailer looks stunning and I can't wait to see what else comes from this console.
