Sunsoft's character platformer from 1993 might be getting a Virtual Console re-release.

Aero the Acrobat, a 1993 Sunsoft game, has been rated for Wii on Australia's OFLC ratings board, according to Siliconera.

It is assumed that the game will be a Virtual Console re-release of the Super Nintendo or Sega Genesis version of the Sunsoft platformer, which was developed by Iguana Entertainment. A sequel, Aero the Acrobat 2, and a spin-off, Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel, came out the following year. The original game was also remade for Game Boy Advance.

If memory serves, the Aero the Acrobat games sucked. Right?

Nope, they got decent/good reviews (I haven't played them). Check http://www.mobygames.com/game/aero-the-acro-bat for some of the reviews.

I played this. It sucked, or maybe I was too little to understand the crap of it.

Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel or bust.

I'm not a huge fan of Aero, but it seems like a smart release for VC. I know a lot of people have been asking for it since Vic Ireland promised to bring Sunsoft's library to the service.
