I ain't 'fraid of no ghosts.

This week in Nintendo downloads, we have seven new games available across Nintendo's digital platforms with three on WiiWare, and four on DSiWare. Sadly, there is no Virtual Console representation this week.

First up for WiiWare is GhostSlayer for 600 Wii Points ($6). This game, from publisher Gevo Entertainment, features support of Wii MotionPlus for use in first-person sword fighting, though the peripheral is not required. GhostSlayer is a single-player game with three levels of difficulty.

Next up for WiiWare is Mouse House, also for 600 Wii Points ($6). This title from Big John Games is a single-player puzzle game in which you guide a mouse through a maze while avoiding all of the traps to reach the cheese at the end. The game features 100 different puzzles, and boasts a pick-up-and-play style of gameplay for all ages.

The final WiIWare game this week is Family Go-Kart Racing from Arc System Works, available for 500 Wii Points ($5). This game features the same characters as the other Family WiiWare titles: Billy, Sarah, Mommy, and Daddy. You can race through 12 tracks in Grand Prix or Time Attack modes, and collect items to unleash on the other players.

On DSiWare this week, the first title up is Aura-Aura Climber, which is published by Nintendo. This game, available for 200 Nintendo DSi Points ($2) features a character named Aura-Aura who needs to return to his place in outer space and become a star. Using his grapple-arm, the player jumps from grapple-point to grapple-point, avoiding obstacles and enemies along the way. Aura-Aura Climber is a single-player arcade-style game.

The second DSiWare game is Flight Control, from Firemint games, for 500 Nintendo DSi Points ($5). This title, which has proven to be incredibly popular on iPhone, has you directing traffic in the skies as multiple planes come in from off the screen. As you draw a path from each plane to its proper landing strip, you must be careful that none of the planes strike each other. The DSiWare verison includes co-operative multiplayer.

The third DSiWare title this week is Faceez from Neko Entertainment for 200 Nintendo DSi Points ($2). This application allows you to take photos with the DSi camera, and then alter and animate those photos. The game allows you to save the photos back to the DSi memory so that you can upload them to Facebook using the DSi's interface.

The final DSiWare game this week is Flipper from GoodbyeGalaxyGames for 500 Nintendo DSi points ($5). Flipper is an isometric puzzle platformer featuring a boy who is looking for his stolen goldfish named Flipper. The power-ups in the game allow you to alter the environment, making for unique challenges. Flipper is a single-player game for all ages.

Let's say you're relaxing at home, but something doesn't seem quite right. Maybe your house has ghosts. Clearly you need to get GhostSlayer, with its Wii MotionPlus™ accessory functionality, to figure out how to deal with them. Or maybe your house has a mouse. Mouse House™ puzzles seem the logical choice for you. Maybe you just need to get out of the house and try some fresh air with Family Go-Kart Racing. If it seems a bit brighter than usual outdoors, that's probably because Aura-Aura, the star of Aura-Aura Climber™, has fallen out of the sky. While you're out having fun, take and share some crazy pictures of your friends and family with Faceez, or spend a few relaxing hours directing flights with Flight Control™. And while you're out there, you might want to spend some time helping a little boy recover his lost pet goldfish, Flipper.

Talkback

No Virtual Console games?

...not this crap again...

vuduFebruary 22, 2010

No Rondo of Blood.  No Megaman 4.  No nothing.

Screw you Nintendo.

No Cave Story. No Shantae.

Luigi DudeFebruary 22, 2010

I wonder if NOA is planning to release something during the Media Summit.  Last year during GDC, they added Arcade support and several arcade games to the Virtual Console during Iwata's speech which was on a Wednesday.  Maybe this year they're planning on adding something to the Virtual Console as well during this upcoming conference.

No Cave Story. No Shantae.

Those aren't VC titles.  It sucks that they're not here yet, but we received 7 WiiWare and DSiWare titles this week.  But we received a big fat nothing in the Virtual Console realm.

I know they're not VC, but the WiiWare/DSiWare that came out this week don't include those games. That's what I'm sad about.

BeautifulShyFebruary 22, 2010

Guys it isn't the end of the world that we didn't get VC games this week. It's not like that the world is going to be destroyed on Sunday and there isn't going to be anymore Wiiware, DSiware and VC games ever again. Don't you guys have any games on the service that are out now that you are interested in that you haven't tried?

vuduFebruary 22, 2010

I have VC games that I've already downloaded that I haven't played.  Others, I've barely scratched the surface on.  Doesn't change the fact that I want my damn Rondo of Blood and Megaman4!

BeautifulShyFebruary 22, 2010

There is always next week.

vuduFebruary 22, 2010

Quit trying to be the voice of reason!  I want somebody's head on a plate for this grave injustice!

BeautifulShyFebruary 22, 2010

Vudu you are way to serious about this.
Anyway the last few days I have been playing Super Metroid and it is as great as when it came out originally.

Yay, it's the return of Daddy/Mommy/Sarah/Billy. At least the Giant Bombcast will be entertaining this week.

KDR_11kFebruary 23, 2010

Aura Aura Climber looked a bit like Go Go Cosmo Cops on the screenshots I saw.
