Follow the "Path of Light" this March.

Coro Coro Comics has revealed that Pokémon Ranger Hikari no Kiski will release onMarch 6 in Japan. The title, which is translated as "Path of Light", will be the third game in the series.

The game, as is the same with previous games in the series, allows you to pick a male or female character at the start of the game. You will control the character of your choice, and the other character will become your partner. The game takes place on an island, and contains a Pichu that plays the Ukulele. As before, you can enlist other Pokémon to help you catch Pokémon. If attacked, your Pokémon will run away.

The game will include four player co-op, with certain parts of the game being only available that way. The game will also let you download special missions via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, including one that allows you to catch Deoxys who can then be carried over to other DS Pokémon titles such as Diamond/Pearl and Heart Gold/Soul Silver.

The game will launch in Japan on March 6. No release outside of Japan has been announced. A demo of the game will be provided later this month at the Nintendo Zone and DS Station.

I haven't played any of the Ranger or Mystery Dungeon games but I might pick this up for Deoxys.

Going by past Pokémon games, I guess North America will see it sometime during the holidays.

It'll also be interesting to see how the game does in Japan. This is the third Pokémon Ranger game released in Japan for the Nintendo DS in the past four years. If memory serves me right, Shadows of Almia sold almost 150k less than the original so maybe this one will do around 500k LTD in the region.
