The new game from HI Games will sharpen your dinosaur-dodging skills.

Yesterday HI Games announced a new DSiWare title that will use the built-in camera to perform motion sensing using the Motion Cortex engine from Realeyes3D.

The game does not use any buttons, but instead has you tilting the DSi to avoid a bite from a charging dinosaur. The touch screen uses arrows to give you an indication as to which way you should flick the system.

The game is currently available for 500 Nintendo DSi Points in Japan. No localization has been announced for North America.

i don't know why Nintendo didn't add any motion sensing tech into the DSi ... :-\

BlackNMild2k1December 11, 2009

because they have a camera and can simulate the same thing through monitoring the movement by the camera?

KDR_11kDecember 12, 2009

Possibly because they didn't intend for it to be used for motion sensing which isn't surprising considering the motion sensor and screen are attached to the same device.

I had to grab this news story, just for Zach.

Nintendo could have added SIXAXIS type functionality into the DSi. They still could on a successor system...

No, they can't add Wii style motion controls on the DS, unless it was with a peripheral of some kind. I don't see why a tiny wiimote kinda thing on the DS would be impossible.
