After a few delays, Wii owners will finally get to play the remake of the first Silent Hill game.

Konami confirmed that Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is coming to Wii on December 8 following a two-month delay.

Developed by Climax Studios, Konami's re-imagining of the series will be a timed Wii exclusive in the wake of the delay. Currently, the PlayStation 2 and PSP versions are slated for early 2010.

The game stars Harry Mason, an amnesiac father looking for his daughter. This time around, Harry will not be able to use any weapons, and he'll also have to deal with a dynamic psych profile system. Player's actions will modify the game dynamically as they journey through the monster-inhabited town of Silent Hill.

Let's hope the delay was for game related issues and that we have a fantastic game coming out this year.

I'm really excited about this.

I'm definitely keeping my eyes on the reviews for this one.  I have a pre-order, but the fact that we've heard next to nothing about this game from Konami in months makes me think they didn't put their full effort behind this one.

Because on Wii if a 3rd party doesn't market or push a game heavily it will obviously suck.

Yes, probably.  If you don't want people to know your game exists and why it's awesome, it makes me think your game sucks.

No. It's just that publishers give the developers the go ahead, and then instead of spending the marketing budget ion marketing, they decide to give themselves a release bonus instead. Good games are being sent to die on the Wii and I really hope there is still money in the petty cash pot for marketing of this game.

My most anticipated game of 2009

I'm still on the fence about it. The E3 demo was kind of boring. I know that won't be the whole game (aimless wandering), but I need to know more about it before I buy it.

Hey, the only thing aimlessly wandering was the player.  Maybe you should keep your distance from adventure-exploro games.

Halbred's favorite games of TEH ALL TIMEZ*:

GTA Whatever
Call of Doody High Definition
Madden
Guitar Hero Van Halen Edition
Halo Trilogy

*-probably not his favorite games of all time.
