Rock out with Rock N' Roll Climber and NyxQuest on WiiWare, while Super Star Wars brings the force to Virtual Console and a Brain Age Express title arrives on DSiWare.

This week in Nintendo Downloads brings the Star Wars franchise to Virtual Console, two games on WiiWare, and more bite-sized Brain Age for DSiWare.

In NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits, you play as Nyx, an angel who is on her quest to save her friend, Icarus. In the game you traverse the ruins of ancient Greece while fighting enemies such as harpies. Luckily, the Greek gods will aid Nyx by granting her powers, which are controlled by pointer and motion controls. There is also a cooperative mode where another player uses the power of the gods while you control Nyx. NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits is rated E for everyone by the ESRB and available for 1000 Wii Points ($10).

Rock N' Roll Climber is a rock climbing game with a unique control scheme; you control your character's arms and legs with specific buttons on the Wii Remote and Nunchuk as you try to climb various obstacles ranging from an indoor rock wall to the Heavy Metal Waterfalls. When you reach the top of the obstacle, you are rewarded with a guitar to rock out on. If you want a more immersive experience, you can also use the Balance Board. Rock N' Roll Climber is rated E for everyone by the ESRB and available for 800 Wii Points ($8).

Super Star Wars, a Super Nintendo classic, arrives as the lone Virtual Console title today. The game follows the plot of Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope and is a 2D action platformer with special 3D sequences. Super Star Wars is rated E for everybody by the ESRB and is available for 800 Wii Points ($8).

Brain Age Express: Arts & Letters is today's DSiWare release. This series of exercises focuses on helping your spelling with Word Attack mode, your music skills with the Piano Player mode, and reading skills with the Read Aloud mode. You can also express your artistic side by challenging your drawing and photography skills, and then share the results with your friends and family. If you think that you need a break from the training exercises, the title also offers Virus Buster, which is inspired by Dr. Mario. Brain Age Express: Arts & Letters is rated E for everybody by the ESRB and available for 800 DSi Points.

Ow, my wallet!

You should be drinking Pepsi or getting Pepsi caps. My wallet is breathing sigh of relief thanks to growing mass of 200 Wii Point codes I'm getting.

Nyx and Super Star Wars are awesome, not sure about Rock N Roll.

I thought the Wii part ended July 31? I entered some codes on the Pepsi Rock Band site and there was no option there for Wii points and I read that the deadline for Wii points was July 31.

vuduAugust 10, 2009

July 31 was the deadline to submit a video to some contest they were holding.

I exchanged codes for points this morning.

I got more pepsi points this moring as well. They will be used to purchase Nyx Quest and maybe Super Metroid.

Anyone tried out Rock N' Roll climbing yet? I ask because I saw videos of this a while back and it didn't look at that fun. It looked slow.

I don't buy bottled soda. If I started to do so now, I'd basically be paying for Wii points anyway... not to mention drinking a lot more calories.

TAYREL713August 10, 2009

I don't know, you could buy diet, like I am made to do as my wife is a diabetic and can't have sugar. The 20 oz bottles are about a buck, if you get 200 points your a buck ahead. Heck you could more than likely just find a cap or two or ask your soda drinking compatriots to save the code caps for you.  I mean, you might as well work your hand right?

IGN has a review, they say it's not much for spectators but a good game for the one playing.
