UPDATE: Atari released a press release today that confirms the Wii and DS version of Ghostbusters: The Video Game for June 16 in North America and June 19 worldwide.

According to MCVUK, Atari has confirmed that Ghostbusters: The Video Game will release on June 19. Meanwhile, the press release for the Ghostbusters 25th anniversary DVD states that Ghostbusters: The Video Game will coincide with the DVD's availability and release "worldwide the week of June 16, 2009." Presumably this news includes the Wii and DS versions of the game, but no specific platforms were named.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game was originally going to be published by Vivendi Games in the fall of 2008. However, Vivendi Games merged with Activision last year and they decided not to keep Ghostbusters: The Video Game. Luckily, Atari came to the rescue and will publish the game.

The Wii version is being developed by Red Fly Studios, who worked on the recently released Mushroom Men games for Wii and DS. Zen Studios is developing the DS versions. The game will feature the voice talents of the original four Ghostbusters and a script written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis.

Activision did not purchase Vivendi Games, technically Vivendi SA (parent company of Vivendi games) purchased Activision. Vivendi owns 52% of Activision Blizzard.

Thanks, TJ Spyke.
I reworded it so it reflects your truthful comment.

June is a good time to release this. I don't think there are any other big wii games coming out in June, are there?

I think this is the first big game confirmed for June, but remember that Nintendo doesn't tell people when games come out until like a month or two before.
