New gameplay trailer of the next Naruto game for Wii.

Naruto's US publisher showed of Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution over the weekend at the Penny Arcade Expo, and in conjunction released this gameplay video. For impressions of how this game plays, check out our E3 coverage.

Talkback

This is a pretty good way to present gameplay footage and demo the controls at the same time.

Holy mother of god . . . english voices so bad . . . so bad . . .(and man Naruto has like no voice for most of his actions, which may be a good thing lol)

I really don't see the need for the GTNT style games to have Wii controls but that's just me.

(On a side note I am still deeply saddened that there isn't a freeloader for Wii that will let us play Japanese Wii games on American systems. I wanna play NGTNT:EX2 so bad).

You could always buy a Japanese Wii.

True but Nintendo will probably spam so many firmware updates when that happens that you'll really have to mod your Wii directly.

Yeah but even then the firmware would probably kill that too.

I'll just have to wait for the ::sighs:: english version and pray it has the JP VA's.

I don't see what the big deal with having English VA is. This is a fighting game. The story mode is inconsequential, and you should be skipping past the cinemas, anyway.

Yeah but the characters scream stuff in mid-battle, too.

God, only took two posts for someone to randomly complain about the voices....

Move to Japan!

looks more like that guy is trying to orgasm then play a game to me.

nickmitchAugust 28, 2007

With Naruto, those could very well be the same thing.

MashiroAugust 28, 2007

Uhhh I don't MIND english voices, if they are GOOD.

But they aren't.

JP voices are far superior to English voices, don't castrate me for wanting the real deal.

(and yes I mean for the voice in battle not cinemas, which GTNT doesn't really have anyway . . .).

All it does is result in a non-purchase from me ::shrugs::. Where as DBZ:BT3 will be receiving a purchase since it does include an option to hear the original voices ::thumbs up::.

Edit: And I know for some it isn't a big deal but for others it is. When you (for the most part) watch the series in Japanese, and play the original 4 games on GC with the Japanese voices you just get used to them and unless the english dub can be on par with it it's a step down and I just find it less enjoyable.

I'm trying to determine if this game will be worth buying if I already own GNT 3 & 4 on GameCube. I know it's not a port of GNT 3 or of Shippuden Ex. I guess it depends on how many characters are available, how many different modes / features the game has, and how the controls / gameplay shape up.

I know there will be less characters than GNT 4, but if there's less playable characters than say Clash of the Ninja 2, I'd be pretty dissappointed.

It'll be interesting to see more impressions / reviews of this game when it comes out.

Even though I much prefer the Japanese voices, the English voices wouldn't be enough to stop me from buying a GOOD game (if it's worth getting).

I'm in the same boat as Mashiro, the Japanese versions of Naruto has a lot of voice/audio clips in battle. It seems like the American version is even missing other essential sounds such as the flames coming out of sasuke's mouth. Just listening to the audio in the video it seems like 1/3 of the audio clips are missing.

However I know a few ppl at work that got to go to Pax (representing our company) and one of them got to play Naruto, he told me it was strange at first to play with motion controls but you get used to it, and the motion controls are a nice addition to using the character's specials/finish moves. I haven't got a chance to really sit down and talk to him about it though.....

I'm still unsure of getting it when it comes out though, as I have Naruto 3 with everything unlocked and for me to buy that game to unlock everything again seems pointless.
