TG-16 game's VC release delayed by Hudson due to bugs.

As NWR's own Aaron Kaluszka noted in our forums, yesterday Hudson confirmed in a forum thread on their official site that the Virtual Console release of the TurboGrafx-16 game Dungeon Explorer has been delayed due to the need for bug fixes. On the company's forums, Hudson staff member "John Master Lee" states:

As astute fans may have figured out by now, Dungeon Explorer did not hit the street date as intended. It appears that there were some last minute bugs that needed to be addressed, so we have decided to hold back to see what can be done.

As some of you know, when games are played on an emulator, which is the case for Virtual Console games, sometimes funky things happen. Emulation technology is not perfect, so not all games work right from the get go. In this particular case, the bug was serious enough to have a the release schedule changed. I'm sure we'll have an update on when the game is coming soon.

NWR will keep you updated with launch details as they become available.

This really sucked since it would have prevented this week from being total crap on the VC.

It's released in Europe already. I wonder if it has the same flaws here?

It's unlikely, but it could be a bug related to the timing/video on the NTSC version of the game. Or maybe there were other changes when the PAL version was made, which happen to cancel out the bug somehow.

Since there never was a PAL version of the PC Engine I'd assume Europe gets the same ROMs as the US.

There was a Turbografx (without the -16) with a limited release in Europe. However, I doubt all of the games Hudson is releasing actually made out there.
