Mercury Meltdown Revolution Rolls toward the Wii™

Ignition Entertainment to Incorporate Wii Remote Motion Control into Brain-Teaser’s Gameplay

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today Ignition Entertainment™ announced it will publish the addictive puzzle game Mercury Meltdown Revolution™ for the Wii™ home video game system.

“We are thrilled to bring Mercury Meltdown to this ground-breaking game console that truly reinvents the gaming experience," said Paul Robinson, president of Ignition Entertainment. “The Wii Remote is a true compliment to the Mercury series as the original game design was intended for a tilt controller. Now gamers can fully interact with the Mercury blob, navigating through the labs with precision and unprecedented speed."

Mercury Meltdown Revolution is a puzzle game that challenges players to immerse themselves in a colorful world of sci-fi machines, crazy characters, and bubbling test tubes. Players take control of a liquid mercury ‘blob’, guiding it around traps, door switches, spikes, moving floors and other hazardous elements in order to complete the level.

Mercury Meltdown Revolution Features:

* Full interaction using the Wii Remote tilt sensor

* Advanced rendering techniques for improved graphical quality

* Over 150+ challenging levels

Talkback

Looking forward to state of the art blob physics!

Bartman3010December 16, 2006

Its a PSP game, right? Not PS2?

TJ SpykeDecember 16, 2006

There was a PSP launch game calle "Archer Maclean's Mercury". Then a sequel called Mercury Meltdown also released on the PSP. Then there was a PS2 port of Mercury Meltdown called "Mercury Meldown Remix", containing levels from the first Mercury game, was announced in September.

KDR_11kDecember 16, 2006

It's not just announced, it's on store shelves already.

PopeRealDecember 17, 2006

Yay, PS2 ports, just what the Wii needs face-icon-small-thumbsdown.gif

KDR_11kDecember 17, 2006

Why not? Shows those Sony fanboys that what Sony has isn't Sony's to keep.

BranDonk KongDecember 17, 2006

Yeah, but that only hurts Sony when it's a franchise that sells a lot of games. GTA on XBox = hurt Sony. Mercury Meltdown on Wii = hurts the wallets of people that buy it.

KDR_11kDecember 17, 2006

No, why? The PS2 isn't a better choice than the GC because of its big franchises but because it has more than just the big hitters. The Wii needs more than just the big hit titles, it needs its "background noise" as well.

CericDecember 17, 2006

You know I figure that revolution will have additional levels as well.

PaleMike Gamin, Contributing EditorDecember 17, 2006

This game was one of the reasons I even thought about a PSP. I'm psyched it's coming out for Wii. The tilt sensing controller will make it a better game in almost every way over the PS2 version.

BranDonk KongDecember 17, 2006

OK, I lied, I know nothing about this game. I did see a video on XPlay I believe though, the graphics made me want to cry. Maybe it was the PSP or PS2 version.
