I already mentioned this briefly here yesterday, but it's nice to now see the full release.

Wouldn't it make more sense to include Mortal Kombat Trilogy instead of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3?

And will it truly have every character? EVERYONE? Including the obscure, special, and NPC characters?

I heard Meat, Zombie Liu Kang, and Chameleon are in it, but what about both Human and Cyborg Smoke, Human and Ghost Liu Kang, both Human and Reptilian Reptile (and Onaga), Tremor, and Khameleon? Eh? Eh?

EDIT: Oh, yeah, I had forgotten that I could just check the same Wikipedia article that I was looking at yesterday. I went to edit the fact that it was coming to the Wii and was beaten to it by someone else by mere seconds.

Dang...

i don't know about you guys but create a character and FATALITIES sounds freaking amazing if it isn't a hack job feature.

This may be the first MK game I will buy/play since Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.

I think this is great news. It shows that Wii will have the same mainstream support that all the other consoles will. I'm interested to see how this game shapes up using the Wii-mote.

I'm wondering if they'll have both cyborg Smokes. I haven't played a MK game since UMK3, but I read Noob Saibot upgraded and reprogrammed him or something. I like his old cyborg look better. :<

For those of you out of the loop concerning Mortal Kombat Characters, here's a quick review of the main roster's history...

Noob Saibot = Sub-Zero 1, Memory Erased, Evil (The first one revealed, anyway; it's likely that there were many Sub-Zeroes before him)

Current Sub-Zero = Sub-Zero 2, Good, Lin Kuei Leader

Scorpion = Was a human, killed by Sub-Zero 1, came back from Hell to kill him, went back to Hell and hunted around for Quan-Chi to get revenge on the sorcerer murdering his clan, came back to Outworld, got thrown into the Soulnado (vortex of souls.... don't ask), and came back as the Warrior of the Elder Gods.

Raiden = God of Thunder, became an Elder God after defeating Shinnock (Evil Elder God), stepped down when the Deadly Alliance (Quan Chi and the original game's villain, Shang Tsung) got together to rule Outworld with an The Dragon King's army. Killed at the beginning of Deception when The Dragon King, Onaga, came back to life and totally wrecked him and the Deadly Alliance.

Reptile: Due to his homeworld being destroyed, he began evolving into his race's animal form, that of a reptile (duh). At the end of Deadly Alliance, The Dragon King entered his body, and thus, Onaga returned to spank some ass.

Liu Kang = Shaolin Monk who defended Earthrealm until he was killed by Quan Chi and Shang Tsung at the beginning of Deadly Alliance. When the DA's lacky, Kano, was killed, Kang's spirit entered his body. Now he's Zombie Liu Kang.

That covers a lot of what's happened since the series went 3D, so if you've got any other questions, feel free to ask.
