SAN FRANCISCO & LONDON (May 4, 2006) - SEGA® of America, Inc. and SEGA® Europe Ltd. today announced Charlotte's Web, an enchanting video game under license from Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products based on the upcoming feature film from Nickelodeon Movies/Walden Media/Paramount Pictures. Ahhh Charlotte's Web. Now that brings back some good memories. But didn't they do a 'live' action re-make sometime ago (Where they used real animals but voices were dubbed a la Mr.Ed.)? Why do another one? Make the kids read the book first, then watch the animated movie.

Oh well, hopefully the games will be passable at worst. This is a piece of Americana they don't want to screw up...

This could very possibly be the worst idea for a animated movie/children's book adaptation to a videogame in all of video game history. Even The Three Little Pigs would be a better idea. face-icon-small-wink.gif

I'm not sure if they actually did such a remake before or not (IMDB doesn't show one, unless they called it something else). At any rate, there's always a market for insipid remakes with horrifyingly bad voiceovers by the likes of Kathy Bates and Cedric the Entertainer.

The simple fact of the matter is Paul Lynde was the definitive Templeton. Trying to shoehorn Steve Buscemi into that role is just blasphemy.

And shame on Sega for making a cash-in title for a movie that never should've been done in the first place.

Activision was all over that... dropping bricks on wolves is a perfectly legitimate game concept.
