Get a hot-rod red DS with decals, a checkered wrist strap and a copy of Mario Kart DS for just $149.99!

Did You Know?

Mario Kart DS Bundle Burns Rubber with Red-Hot Nintendo DS

On Nov. 28, Nintendo will offer a special bundle of the new Wi-Fi-enabled Mario Kart ® DS racing game with the fifth new Nintendo DS ™ color, Hot Rod Red (artwork attached). The package will be available at an MSRP of $149.99, for a savings of about $15. The Hot Rod Red DS will come with a checkered-flag wrist strap and a series of racing-inspired decals to let owners customize their rides with sporty numbers or red-hot flames.

Mario Kart DS will be the first Nintendo game to take advantage of Nintendo ® Wi-Fi Connection, Nintendo’s free wireless gaming service. DS owners around the world will be able to race one another wirelessly using high-speed Internet connections at home or at Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection hotspots. With more than 30 new and classic racetracks, racers will be able to show their style as they aim for the finish line.

Think of them as a fiery 'stache.

If this doesn't sell systems, what will?

Mario Kart DS , Rated E for Everyone, launches on Nov. 14.

The wrist strap is cool...but where's the stylus!?

If they give them away in a US-only exclusive deal I'll be peeved...

DjunknownOctober 12, 2005

What'd really sell me this (Aside from Mario Kart) would be to include the USB Connector so you can use Nintendo Wi-FI Connection right away. Since this is the first title to use this service, why not start on the right foot (or pedal...)?

I'm sure they could work out a reasonable price, close to but not more than 200 USD. If Nintendo won't do it, I wouldn't be surprised if Gamestop(Ebgames) does.

It shouldn't have the wifi logo on the box unless it comes with a USB Dongle. Is that really what the top of the DS looks like, with the flames? Lame. There should be an option to get a normal DS.

So the flames and numbers are optional.

Cool!

ArtimusOctober 12, 2005

It should have the Wi-fi logo because it's a selling point for the system. But a bundle would be wise.

I really want this...Gah, November sucks... face-icon-small-frown.gif

The only good thing about this is it has Waluigi's course on the box art. PINBALL. face-icon-small-smile.gif

Special colour: Luigi's period

I was thinking about getting this when I decided two things. I really don't want Mario Kart DS... and the other was that I already spent enough this year, and I have plenty of games coming on preorder that are coming out before the end of the year, that I don't need to buy anymore for a while... a long while actually. And I need to spend less so I can do Christmas shopping.

The last Mario Kart game I got was for the N64...

Well you didn't miss much by not getting Mario Kart: Double Trash!! face-icon-small-cool.gif

When Dragon Quest VIII comes out at the end of November, I'm going to be playing it with my Slime controller, when that comes out too!. face-icon-small-tongue.gif

I will buy a non-RPG if I am interested in it. It's just that not much over that RPG's have interested me lately. I did get DMC3 and finishe dit, but I didn't like it, too much of a really stoopid story.

IN THE GOB!

Ian SaneOctober 13, 2005

Thank God those flames are optional. I was thinking that this would be a good way to finally get a DS. But the second I saw those flames I was like "BLEH!"

PaleMike Gamin, Contributing EditorOctober 13, 2005

Man... man... I don't understand how the MK:64 generation of fans DON'T like MK:DD... I mean, all the reasons to not like Double Dash are in 64 as well...

vuduOctober 13, 2005

Ian, is it really necessary to bitch about the flame decals? Sometimes I think you like to complain just for the sake of complaining.

You posted in the Mario Kart DS bundle thread in the 'Game Boy and Nintendo DS' thread (and didn't have anything negative to say about the decals) 21 hours before coming to this thread and complaining about them. What's the point?

Ian SaneOctober 13, 2005

"Ian, is it really necessary to bitch about the flame decals? Sometimes I think you like to complain just for the sake of complaining."

Yeah, three sentences. I'm just on a total b!tchfest regarding the flames.

It's just an observation. And I had nothing to say about the decals before because the other thread I only looked at Bill's boxart link because the other one wasn't working well at the time so I didn't even know about them.

vuduOctober 13, 2005

Damn. Alright, that's a good argument. The original link worked fine for me, so I didn't think about that. Okay, forget I said anything.

Shiny happy people holding hands
