Nintendo is going to Deutschland to talk about games. Could more Revolution info be on the way?

The German Games Confrence, which is the German combination version of E3 and the Game Developers Confrence, takes place this August from the 17th to the 21st. Nintendo is scheduled to make a one-hour presentation on the first day of the show, August 17th, at 10:30am German Time (4:30am U.S. Eastern Time). The event, entitled "Expand the Definition of Gaming," will be one of the very first events of the week-long confrence, and will occur before presentations by other comapnies such as Microsoft and Sony.

The details of what the presentation might contain are completely unknown. It may simply be a recap of information presented eariler this year at GDC or E3. Or, Nintendo may let slip some new information on the Revolution or its revolutionary controller. No one can know for sure until Nintendo takes the stage in Germany in two weeks' time.

If new information is revealed on the 17th, you can be sure that Planet GameCube will let you know about it as soon as we do!

Rev info at a German event? Germany isn't even a big place for Ninty, is it?

Karl Castaneda #2August 03, 2005

Do I expect Revolution info? Eh, if there's anything, there probably won't be much of it, just because this event isn't as world-famous as E3 or the Tokyo Game Show.

ThePermAugust 04, 2005

well you never know the best time to release info is when people dont expect

On the john?

I really doubt that the controller will be revealed. I think if anything is going to be revelaed it's going to be some screens and/or a movie. That way everyone will be releaved that the Rev will have comparable graphics, and it will get people excited about the Rev regardless of the actual revolutionary aspect. Nintendo should get people anticipating the Revolution even if it isn't revolutionary (I am already with the virtual console), and then when they reveal the controller and the other revolutionary aspects they'll have a ton more movies and possibly demos that'll just blow everyone out of the water.

Miyamoto already has said that he wants to reveal the software and the controller as a package... face-icon-small-smile.gif

It's where the NoE headquarters are.

Also, the Leipzig GC is apparently a rather popular event by now, after the ECTS died it's the only one left in Europe.

Bill AurionAugust 06, 2005

Yeah, well, I was talking sales-wise... face-icon-small-smile.gif

KDR_11kAugust 06, 2005

Certainly bigger than the UK. And the GC Leipzig is pretty much the only show in all of Europe so they're covering the whole continent that way.

I think it would be funny if this whole time Nintendo was just screwing around with Microsoft and Sony by making them think their console won't be powerful as the others, when in reality they match or surpass(Just dreaming) both?

Bill AurionAugust 07, 2005

Well I can say I won't be surprised at all if the Rev does end up matching the competition (more likely than not), because we've already gone through this "may be weaker than the competition" with the GC, and it ended up crushing the PS2 and standing even with the XBox...
