WaveBird Controller

by Adam Kontras - May 22, 2002, 3:34 pm EDT

I won a Wavebird and am currently at home playing with it...hate me yet?

Awwwwww yeah. I rock at Mario Party.

As you may have heard they're giving awa Wave Birds at E3. It's a heckuva mess to get one though: Wait in a line, win a spin the wheel thingee, then win the most Mario Party 4 matches in 10 minutes - and you get a Wave Bird.

I'll make these quick, as I'm editing Game Footage for the DVD (Y'all ain't gonna believe the screenshots from the DVD-look for 'em tonight) - but this thing is incredible.

-Insanely light. Even with batteries. The range? How 'bout this. I sat on the JON, 4 walls away, and BEHIND my television - no problem. There is nowhere in my house I can go for this not to work. I'm gonna have to get on my friggin' cell phone and walk around my apartment complex to find how far it goes. Simply incredible.

-Of course, no rumble. That always has, and always will be the almighty bummer of this controller. I personally, think it's worth it. If there's a really special game you want it on, then just use the other controller. For day-to-day gaming, this is absolutely a must-have. Hell for Monkey Ball alone, to be able to pass this around for the party games...wow.

Expect a full review very, very soon.
