Drive cars, chase cars, blow cars up.

Driver Renegade, which has been on the 3DS release list for a while, should actually be coming out this fall. Is it worth looking forward to? I don't really think so. The controls with the Circle Pad aren't terrible, but it does not stack up to previous 3DS titles, such as Ridge Racer 3D. While that game is finished and this was a demo of Driver, the point still stands that it doesn't feel quite right.

The boosting in the game, which appears to be built up by driving, is lackluster. Even with the 3D effect, you get little sense of speed. When I first played the game, I thought the boost was the brake. My only indicator was that my km/h went up.

The demo showcased one mission where you had to chase a car. I didn't complete it, but I tried multiple times. The most rewarding point was when my car blew up in a ridiculous fashion. At least that looked cool in 3D.

I'm glad this wasn't a release game then. I would probably have bought it.

For some reason I'm looking forward to this. Driver games have always interested me and I got a weird feeling about this. The sense of speed might be an issue as said though. I wish more gameplay was out for it though. Ubisoft deservedly so gets a lot of crap about it's games but with Ghost Recon I'm willing to go on a bit of faith when it comes to certain franchises they decide to push. Driver: San Francisco seems to be well done from watching gameplay. I don't think they'd crap out the 3DS game with them trying to rebuild the franchise and taking both games back to just driving.
