Wario returns to the genre that made him famous: platforming.

Early information from the screenshot suggests that Wario will have a variety of power-ups at his disposal and that he will have a life meter. A Metroid-esque map on the top screen confirms that level design will be as branched as in previous Wario Land games, if not moreso. There is also a timed aspect, possibly similar to the escape sequences found in Wario Land 4.
