A new GameCube project from the creator of Tempest 2000 has emerged.

Jeff Minter is best known for forming Llamasoft and 80's games including Gridrunner, Return of the Mutant Camels and Tempest 2000.  


This month's Edge magazine contains a lengthy feature regarding his latest project, known as "Unity", for GameCube. It is primarily being developed by Jeff Minter along with the assistance of Lionhead Studios. The game is described as a "modern abstract", 3rd person shooter combined with light synthesiser effects. The levels are expected to be very unique with a lot of variety of gameplay styles, while keeping earlier levels simple and accessible to playing immediately. It can be played by with up to four players, each controlling different visual effects and it will used licensed music tracks.  


The game has currently been in development for three months and is expected to be released in 2004.
