The Nintendo creator apparently has an affinity for robots.

Two new IPs from Shigeru Miyamoto, Project Giant Robot and Project Guard, are coming to Wii U.

Project Giant Robot has players controlling enormous robots that are as tall as buildings. The game has players angle the Wii U gamepad in conjunction with the TV, with the GamePad giving gamers a look at what the robot sees in the game. Using the joysticks, players are able to punch or grab enemies.

Project Guard uses the GamePad as an avenue to view different areas of a fortress via security cameras. The cameras, which are equipped with lasers, need to be managed to fend off incoming enemy robots. Using the touch screen, players switch from camera to camera to fend off the oncoming hordes. Players also have the ability to strategically place the cameras best defend their fortress. The original concept for Project Guard was created in the Nintendo 64 era, however the limited processing power of the system caused the game to be shelved for years before it resurfaced again on Wii U.

There are currently no solid release dates for Project Giant Robot or Project Guard. Both games are regarded as experimental at this point.
