My DS is going to get allot of love the rest of the year
« on: July 19, 2008, 01:04:35 AM »
Nintendo didn't show me anything for my Wii that I want and all the 3rd party games I want to buy for Wii aren't coming to next year.

So far my list of games for DS that I am interested in.

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
Moon
Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff
GTA: ChinaTown Wars
Chronno Trigger DS

and I might import Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland from Europe.

I am probably going to buy AT LEAST two of those games I listed, maybe 3 but considering I haven't bought a DS game in months (Professor Layton and I traded that game in last month) thats really odd that my handheld is taking over for main gaming platform.

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, Chrono Trigger, and FFIV for me.

The last new DS game I bought was Contra 4 (I bought Elite Beat Agents used). I still have to track down The World Ends With You.

Tecmo Bowl Kickoff, Bangai-O Spirits (Treasure shmup, hello), and Dragon Quest IX should it actually release in 2008 (doubt it, since we haven't heard anything about it in ages).

TWEWY is wonderful.  Everyone who's even remotely interested in action RPGs needs to give it a look.  I haven't played that many RPGs and even I feel like the genre is quite stale, but TWEWY is quite refreshing.

DQ IX is slated for 2009, but it's more than likely we'll see the remake of DQ IV this year.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Really?  That sucks.  I hadn't heard that, but seeing as Square-Enix has mentioned nothing of it for a year, I figured that a 2008 release was only a dream.

Time Hollow
Away: Dungeon Shuffle
Rune Factory 2

I also might get Chrono Trigger and Kirby depending on what else comes out around the same time...

(However, my most anticipated DS title is Avalon Code, which isn't coming out til next March...:()

Retro Game Challenge
Time Hollow
Rhythm Heaven
Bangai-O Spirits
Rune Factory 2
Exit DS
Kirby: Super Star Ultra
Chrono Trigger
I Heart Geeks
Metal Slug 7

DS wins again. What a stupid doomed non-gamers gimmick system.

Rune Factory 2 intrigues me.

I loved the first until I hit a wall of enjoyment. I woke up one day and just HATED the game. i did the same crap over and over again and lots of grinding and boring level design for caves and basic AI. Natsome doesn't add much in its sequels so this might be a better translation and less glitches, but the main problem was the festivals were HORRIBLE and I actually missed the mini-games ( horse race, dog Frisbee, etc ) The beasts also helped to much with the farm it as pretty much automatic after I got a few.

Lots of good but still those kinds of games can only entertain you so much.

I'm going to be honest, I haven't heard of half the games some of you guys are talking about. BUT, I'm glad I looked some of them up. Retro Game Challenge, I'm all over that. Props to Infernal Monkey. *respect knuckles*
