Nintendo has announced the delay of the upcoming Pokémon Global Link service in response to the earthquake that struck Japan two weeks ago. A statement on the Global Link's website attributed the delay to "the need to conserve energy resources."
Originally slated to launch outside of Japan on March 30, the Global Link service will feature a deep integration with the recently released Pokémon Black and White. Using Black and White's C-Gear, users will be able to view the results of their online battles, compare their performance to players around the world, and participate in online tournaments.
The Global Link will also integrate with the "Dream World" flash game, which is hosted on the service's website. In it players will be able to capture Pokémon not available in Black and White's Unova region, play mini-games, find and trade items, and decorate their home.
As of this moment no new date has been announced for the service's launch.
