Looks like Europe is getting a baby's toy in time for Back to the Future Day.

Europe is adding to the Zapper love on the Wii U Virtual Console this week, while North America may be picking up a new platform soon.

The European downloads for this week include both Hogan's Alley and Wild Gunman, both NES games, for the Wii U. These would be two of the other Nintendo published games that support the Zapper in much the same way Duck Hunt's Wii U release does. Both titles will be 60hz US versions, and the games were listed in the big Virtual Console leak from last week.

In North America, the ESRB has updated their listing for the previously released on Wii Bonk's Adventure to include a Wii U rating. The listing also covers the PlayStation 3/PSP release of the game in the Classics line, meaning this would be the TurboGrafx-16 version of the title. There is no word of a release date, but traditionally Virtual Console ratings on the ESRB have a quick turnaround to release.

It's TurboGrafx 16, not Turbo-Graphx 16.

Even though Japan has had PC-Engine games on their Wii U Virtual Console for years now, it's great to see we'll be getting them in North America again.  I was worried that because of the low Wii U sales and the fact TurboGrafx was never popular in the West would make them just not bother with them on the Wii U.

Hopefully they're able to get Sega and SNK back on board because when the Wii's Virtual Console is eventually shut down, it'd be nice for all the systems it supported will still exist on Nintendo's newer systems in case people have to rebuy them since the danger for Digital purchases is being able to get them again if something happens to the system they're currently on.

Still no sign of TG-16 games on the 3DS Virtual Console, which they were announced for before the system launched.

The 3DS Virtual Console has been dead for over a year now.  I figure Nintendo plans on absorbing the Wii U's Virtual Console into the NX which is why they've given it so much more attention.  Right now they have to make separate emulators for home console and handheld, but if the NX portable and home console will be sharing an OS, they're probably aiming for Cross Platform Virtual Console support as well.

So if the Wii U emulators are going to be what the NX versions are based off of, it makes sense to drop the 3DS like they have since it's cheaper then making a bunch of emulators they'll just end up throwing away after this gen anyway.  I wouldn't be surprised of that's the real reason GBA and DS games aren't available on the 3DS either.

While three M&Ms are *technically* more than zero, I wouldn't get excited if someone offered me three. ;)

Clever of them to release Wild Gunman close to Back to the Future II day. It'll probably even get more sales due to that than it would otherwise, since the game itself is nothing special.
