F-Zero AC US Bound; Connection Details

Nintendo's E3 website reveals some more interesting info about F-Zero.  Custom-bulit machines?

While we were all frothing over the concept of 8-player LAN Mario Kart and co-op Pikmin, many people failed to realize that Nintendo also revealed some new information about F-Zero AC and F-Zero GC.

Nintendo's F-Zero page tells us what we already know about the game, except for the last two sentences, which basically blow the lid off of the mystery AC-GC connection:

When you use a Memory Card with F-Zero Arcade, you can transfer new pilots or machine parts that you can use for customization on your Nintendo GameCube. You can even race your home-built machine in the arcade!

Obviously, as this was updated on Nintendo of America's website, it's clear that F-Zero AC is indeed coming to North America.  It's also quite obvious that the arcade version will have exclusive pilots.  It also seems that the GC version will include some sort of machine-building mode, but whether this would be similar to the 64DD's F-Zero X Expansion create-a-car mode is unknown.

With this new announcement, it's very likely that F-Zero AC will be at E3.  If it is, we'll have full impressions of it from the show floor.
