Topic: Marvel/EA Crossover Game Announced

Marvel and EA team up for a super-hero crossover.

In a recent interview with Greg Pak, one of Marvel's writers, the comic scribe revealed that he had been working with Electronic Arts on a super-hero crossover game involving the classic Marvel characters and all-new characters from EA.  

Coinciding with the release of the game will be a miniseries called Marvel Nemesis: The Imperfects. More on this story as it develops.

I question EA's ability to make interesting original characters.  These days it takes a lot of creativity to make a superhero people actually care about.  All the easy-to-think-of generic super power ideas have long been taken.  Considering EA's sheer inability to be creative or original I have a feeling we'll be getting lame ideas like Fishman or Firegirl.

Even ripping off non-Marvel characters wouldn't really work since Marvel themselves own several lesser known characters that have similar powers to other popular characters.  It's kind of silly to make a Flash ripoff for example when Marvel already has Quicksilver who though not as popular has basically the same powers.

Marvel vs Capcom was a great idea because Capcom already had a whole bunch of superheroish characters to work with.

Capcom's vs series is holy ground.  EA doesn't have the talent to live up to that.  I predict flop.

It's not a crossover unless both franchises stand on their own.  This is just making an X-Men game and adding a bunch of nobodies to it.

Well I think the most compelling EA character is either Baseball guy,football guy, soccer guy, hockey guy or lets not forget the cream of the crop character CAR!!

It may not be a fighting game.  I suspect EA is more looking at Kingdom Hearts and the success of blending Disney with original Square characters.

Either way I really don't know what to think of this game.  This may be a game I am glad if we don't get it on our system.

EA have heaps of characters, much better then marvel vs xmen that game suxed. have you ever heard of 'goldeneye' or "Lord of the rings" Goldeneye could kick wolverine's ass!!! And SSXXmen would be gooder then Need for flash speed. Much better then Nintendo's lame "mario" or "samus" or "Link". Who ever hearsd of them anyway? Goldeneye is much famouser then Mario, it is a better selling game on xbox (which has sold 100 million consoles in the wor'ld and is more powerfulll then a super computer and gamecube has only sold 4 million and only has 5 good games and xbox has over 2000)

So stop saying bad EA when their much betterer then Nintendo with their tiku tiku tiku!  games like mario and resident evil 4 and Banjo Ha Ha Microsoft got rare now and Ghoulies is 20 times best then mario. Ninetndo should stick with GBA but PSP will killit it's already sold more then GBA and kiccs adds nut chim goob.
