General Gaming / RE: Why Gears of War sucks

I just picked up a 360 a few days ago with GoW.  This game is amazing.  A console shooter that isn't so dominated by twitch gameplay!

Hanging a weight off the remote strap free in the vertical axis would exert an accelleration of g, 9.8 m/s/s.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: When do you strap your Wii?
« on: January 01, 2007, 05:21:29 PM »
I always wear it now.  In the age of wireless controllers, the lack of a tether has for some reason made it more compelling to throw the remote at the wall when I get angry.

=(

Are you sure it appends the .com and doesn't just return the first google result like Firefox does?  I have no idea how Opera works.

Voice acting? No.  Books make out fine.

It's fun to make voices  in your head based on the little snippets you hear from them (i.e. mailman!).

Nintendo Gaming / RE: HDTV component cables and game issues.
« on: December 27, 2006, 08:18:46 PM »
Does setting 480p output in the Wii settings also mess up your video?  Are you sure it's HDTV? (Dumb question maybe, but your symptoms are identical to trying to push 480p on a TV that doesn't accept it).

If so but you're sure you have an HDTV, is there a possibility your video input on the TV hasn't been set to 480p?  I'm not sure if all HDTVs automatically detect a progressive signal.

For every person looking to buy a PS3 for MGS4 and/or FFXIIIIIIIIIMC, there are 10000 relatives that like to play Wii Sports.

I was smiling for about an hour afterwards.  =)

As long as the games don't take a step backwards from KD1 and 2, then I'll be fine with the game.  Bring it on!

Zelda:TP (GCN) for $30 shipped.  No one knows if it's a price mistake or if they'll even honor it, though DDD is known to be a reliable source.

Holy crap.  That's a cheap addition to my Nintendo collection shrine.

I'd only play DDR on Wii if I could use my sweet, schweet Cobalt Flux pads.

And hey, even if I did decide to take a risk, I would do it anyway even if every single game Nintendo ever made was already on the VC.

They're treating the VC as part of their money-making strategy instead of a perk, which is what it should be. No matter what, Nintendo is going to make a profit from the VC. There's no way they can't. Them stretching the titles out so thinly is just them wanting to make as much money as they possibly can, and make the dry spells seem not so bad (which they'll still be. Because no amount of VC titles are going to tide me over if I'm anticipating a Wii game).

Nintendo is not your friend.  Nintendo is a business.

Thankfully, stretching out VC titles is about as evil as they will be.  At least they're not forcing Blu-ray on us.

I really don't think thats a good idea without permission, it could be a criminal offense, kinda like stealing cable
I would ask your neighbors if it's ok that you connect to their network rather than sponge off of it without permission.

The neighbor is broadcasting a public signal.  It's not illegal to connect to a public access point.

If he doesn't want people using it, he should use more security (i.e. ANY AT ALL).

Hurry up and release this baby already!

Why couldn't they have designed the game like Excite Truck.  That's what I imagined when I heard the game was being released and got *very* excited.

Argh.

Monkey Wars, however simple, is extremely close to the perfect FPS setup for the Wii.  I had more fun playing that than the dozens of times I've tried to play Halo 2.  I shot who I wanted to shoot as soon as I wanted to shoot them.  Amazing.

This is seriously the craziest piece of gaming news I've heard since I saw the first unveiling of the Wiimote.

Holy crap.

Wow. I'm in tears, not sadness, happiness, or anything, just CRAZED BEWILDERMENT.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Yoshi's Island DS

Yoshi's Island is probably my favorite platformer by a few leagues.  I'm really afraid to try this DS game, in fear of it toppling the legend I've built the "series" up to be.  Should I avoid it?
