Wow. those numbers are so wrong. I can remember numbers from the fall and summer of 2002 saying that the GC had 14 million +, and the xbox had 10 million +. I'm pretty sure 5 million people didn't return their GCs in the past half a year. These nubmers are BS. (they're from sony, too. what do you expect?)

Nintendo Gaming / Sonys PSP vs. GBA- Does Nintendo have a chance?
« on: May 15, 2003, 11:14:47 AM »
If anything, the PSP will be competing with the GBA successor. And because of this early announcement, nintendo knows just what to do concerning their next handheld to beat out the PSP: dual mediums. Have a cartridge slot for all those GB/GBC/GBA games, and a minidisc slot for the new games.

Nintendo Gaming / The Gamecube Points Challenge
« on: April 06, 2003, 12:21:20 PM »
This is a game I call the "Points challenge". I'm doing a similar thing on the Xbox/PS2 forums (only for Xbox/PS2, not GC) and all it is, is an accurate way to find out what is good AND unique about each console. (If the mods classify it as a 'poll' then, i'm sorry, i didn't think it's a poll. It's not really a poll at all though, but it's good to have a disclaimer)

RULES OF THIS THREAD: Because I don't want this to be a fanboy arguing ground, and good debates are run with rules and not mindless screaming.

1: No fanboy craziness. no insults about how stupid I am for not knowing and no insults towards others because they happen to disagree with what you say. It only makes yourself look stupid and it ruins the chat for everyone else.

2: We're going to use a 'cancelling' idea for this. Remember in math, how 2 - 2 = 0? the 2 and the other 2 cancel out. We'll do the same thing here. You have to name things that any other of the two consoles don't have. You can't name, say, "Tony Hawk 4" because everyone has "Tony hawk 4". It cancels out.

3. Points. for each correct answer, the GC gets 1 point. if you name something that cancels out, no points. there's also a half-cancel, too. You can say MP, but it will only count for 1/2 a point, because MP is a high-end FPS and is in direct competition with Halo, another high-end FPS. they kind of cancel out. Animal Crossing would count for a full point, as something like that has never been done on a console before.

4. Basically, name the most origonal AND worthwile things about the GC. It's a fun little game, and it will hopefully being out what's really good about the Xbox instead of "MP R0x0Rz uR B0x0Rz BcUz MP R0x0Rz uR B0x0Rz".

This is probably the most accurate way to find out the best features of a system that are only available there and nowhere else.

2001-2005. 4 years.

No, no, no. For the west, it will be 2006, that's 5 years. for Japan, it'll be 2005, but GC also came out 2000 in Japan I think. that's also 5 years.

the GC will be good with 5 years. the PS2 will also be good with 6 years. The Xbox Next will come out in 2005 in the west first though, making 3-4 years, making Xbox owners very pissed off.

Nintendo Gaming / It's offical, the AIAS awards are completely full of crap
« on: February 28, 2003, 12:10:17 PM »
Stop complaining! If you'll notice, all the games that won awards, that are in Planetgameucbe's award article, are ALL for nintendo. Two Towers, Splinter Cell, Metroid Prime, whatever. They're still on GC. That shows how high-quality nintendo's lineup is.

I think they will have new characters from other games, plus new carts. Maybe an upgrade system. I'd like to see the new carts though. Donkey Kong riding rambi, Bowser in his hovering smiley face, Kirby on his Warp Star, Link on Epona, Mega man on Rush, Sonic on his feet.

I'd like to correct Rick here for a moment. Most AMERICAN children want to be astronauts. the Astronaut is the american birthchild. I can't speak for other countries but in Canada, we don't really care for outer space. And if the russian kids dream of anything, they dream of bring Cosmonauts, which is the name of the career in Russia.

While it is a bay day today because of this event, i'm curious as why PGC has reported it. Maybe if there was a nintendo worker on board or something then i'd understand it, but I don't understand why a Nintendo gaming site would be reporting news on disasters.
