Nintendo Gaming / Why are some screenshots good, others blotchy?
« on: January 18, 2006, 06:43:31 PM »
I checked out the review on Gamespot.  Some of the screenshots looked blotchy, but other look great (clear/detailed).  Is this because of the way they took the first set of screenshots?

Nintendo Gaming / Buying used Gamecube, package worth it?
« on: January 18, 2006, 06:19:13 PM »
A friend of my coworker is selling his Gamecube for $130. He says its in pristine condition.

It includes:
Platinum Gamecube
(1) Platinum controller
Resident Evil 4 Collectors Edition
Resident Evil 1
Metroid Prime 1
Metroid Prime 2
Zelda Wind Waker
Zelda Promo Disc (i think its the old games?)
Star Wars Rouge Squadron

Do you think its worth getting for $130? Ive had all the other NIntendo consoles, but the last system I had was a Dreamcast I bought used 2.5yrs ago.

Well, i lost that auction for the indigo.  I tried about 5 other auctions the past 2 weeks, no luck.  Someone has a "Buy it now" for $120 + $12 s/h.  1 controller, 1 mem card, 7 games, Monster video cable.

Its a Platinum.  I know that Indigo is the oldest systems, did Platinum come out before or after the Black?

Why?

Yea. I found a Indigo system. The seller rates it in terms of condition as a 4 out of 5. He is selling it with:

(1) OEM wired controller
(1) Wavebird wireless controller
(2) Memory cards
Resident Evil 0
Resident Evil 4
Mario Sunshine
Soul Calibur 2
Harvets Moon
and
Metroid Prime

Hes asking $135 plus $20 s/h OR Best offer.

Sounds like the Revolution is perfect for you then...

Yea, but the reason I wait to buy a "new" system is the price.  I can never see myself paying $300-500 for a sonsole system (lke some people are doing for the xbox360).

Nintendo Gaming / Hooking up a Gamecube to a LCD monitor - bad?
« on: January 01, 2006, 12:49:39 PM »
I have a 20" Dell LCD monitor that I can hookup SVIDEO and Component IN.  I tried hooking up my N64 awhile back, looked like crap on the monitor because of the native high resoultion (1600x1200).  Would this be the case if I hookup a Gamecube to it?

BTW, I havent bought a Gamecube yet...

Probably not.  Im one of those people who arent hardcore gamers, but like to play a good game every now and then.  I usually stick with PC Games, since the last console system I had was a Dreamcase (and I bought that about 2yrs ago, yrs after they stopped making them).  Previously, I owned all Nintendo systems, so I am a fan.

I read the Revolution will be able to play Gamecube games, so thats a plus.  The main reason I want a Gamecube now is for Resident Evil 4, Metroid Prime, and Zelda games.  Metroid and Zelda were my fav games back in NES/SNES days.

Is their a reason why they did away with the progressive scan connection?

ALSO, how well do gamecubes hold up?  Its hard to tell what the condition is when buying off of ebay.

What do you mean they confirmed it?  Does Walmart send purchase dates and serial #s to Nintendo automatically?

Nintendo Gaming / New black/plat gamecubes superior to indigo systems?
« on: January 01, 2006, 11:46:33 AM »
Im looking to buy a used gamecube off of ebay, and I see alot of indigo systems.  Are the new systems superior in hardware, or do either one have something over the other?

Some did tell me that the old indigo systems has a connection for new hi def tvs, but I could never find any info to back this up.
