Nintendo Gaming / Re: Mario Kart Wii Mega Thread

So far I love this Kart. Best one since SNES for me. As much as I loved the DS one the snaking was annoying and now I have that game plus more and better online. Sweet. I love the Wii Wheel and cant imagine using a regular controller.

I am having a blast with this game. It reminds me of the ol 8 bit days where games were just games with a silly story to simply have a theme to guide the player. Its fun and hilarious in a twisted sort of a way. A must play for all older Wii gamers for sure.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: So, is the Wii Zapper worth getting?
« on: November 25, 2007, 03:38:38 PM »
I love the Zapper. I think it is getting alot of flack for various reasons.

1.) It takes time to adjust to it especially if you are use to just holding the Wii Mote

2.) Once you adjust(I am a righty and I found it better when I have my right hand on the trigger area and my left on the chuck...which is totally backwards from the Sub Machine Gun shape of the unit) it becomes alot better.

3.) I dont know about anyone else but I am having alot of fun with it and thats what I like about it!

Anyone else have issues with these games on the Wii?

I downloaded World Heroes since I have AOF and FFBA on my PS2(which both of those collections do this video glitch as well but no the Metal Slug Anth.)

Anyway here is the issue.

Running Wii in component 480p WS to my Sanyo 30" WS CRT HDTV.

World Heroes runs but it has crazy flicker!

I get the same issue when I run the AOF or FF collections on my PS2 in component but what I do is run S-Vid when I play those on the PS2.

IS there some weird emulation that doesnt like my TV? The Metal Slug Anthology on Wii and PS2 runs fine in component.

Seriously WTH. Some companies are really dropping the ball on options latley. No 480p or 16:9 in Super Swing Golf,No classic controller support on Metal Slug Anthology. Grrr. Now this. Great job Square!

« on: December 12, 2006, 01:54:47 AM »
480P is not going to look good on an LCD that has a much higher native resolution(Probably 1368x 766).

I have a CRT HDTV and it improved it alot but 480p is just 480p...especially compared to when I fire up the Xbox360 with 1080i resolution.

I nabbed Gunstar Heros and Alien Crush yesterday. I had the real carts of both of these games back in the day.

Classics! Alien Crush is one of the best pinball games ever made. Gunstar is just a "Treasure" and still to this day I think their finest game.

The only difference was Sega used the Z80 as a sound chip where as SNK used it for graphics. So it could be very easy to emulate Neo Geo games with just a little tweaking of the emulator code.  Or SNK could relese the Sega CD versions fo thier games cuz they arent that bad either.

SImular but way way more powerful. The Neo could move sprites the size of all the Genesis sprites put together!

According to SNK USA message boards it is being pressed now and should hit stores around the 15th. I also work part time at an EB(just to get the discount) and its no longer in the pre-order reserve list so that means our shipment is coming in this week sometime(Hopefully)

Just got to the Desert myself. This game is again a masterpeice. I cant believe how good it has been so far. Each part of the story the unravels makes it that much better.

I love playing the VC games at 480p through Component connections. You couldnt get that on N64,TG16,Genny,Etc.

Mario 64 looks the best it ever has!

I am a sucker for the VC.

I got Mario 64,Donkey Kong,Bonks Adventure and Bomberman 93'

Personally the TG16 seem to be the most bang for your buck! Bomberman even does 5 players!

I cant even get through today so far. I think Nintendo really underestimated the demand for a cleaner picture with component cables. lol
