TalkBack / RE:Ocarina of Time in 2D
« on: January 20, 2004, 02:51:31 PM »
Yeah, I remember this guy.  He got banned from a website about 3 times for stealing other people's work.  I've tried the demos but it loads far too slow.    Other than a few decent looking pics, I don't see why Planet Gamecube is giving this guy more attention than any of the other programmers out there in the world that are making their own Zelda games.  I believe the only reason this guy is receiving attention is because how much the original was loved.

I dislike thecubedcanuck's complete strategy but I agree that Nintendo must become more mainstream.  Sadly, Nintendo's current image will probably last them til the end.  Advertising, as many have mentioned before, needs to be totally revised for the better.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: will nintendo be back on top again?
« on: May 20, 2003, 07:21:00 AM »
Not in this generation...

advertising more (yes, fire whoever is in charge of advertising and hire someone who knows what they're doing!)
ship next-generation console earlier or at the right time of other competitior's release of their n-g consoles.
Like Odinfire mentioned, launch Mario game at the start of the big N's next big console.  As well as a very solid mature game like Metroid or Metal Gear and of course Smash Bros!

Knowing sales figures are irrevelant to buying and playing games.  Yes, 3rd party support will most likely go to the best company out there but good grief, you make it sound as if I am buying a car or making a career choice.  If anything, I have faith that Nintendo will keep on making good games.  I understand that if you want to play a certain game or type of game, you'll try to buy the system that will most likely have it.  It's a tiring debate in your mind what sacrifices you want to make if you choose to stick with one system or two but knowing whether X-Box is beating Nintendo by a hundred or a thousand hardware purchases changes little.

About the stores thing I've been reading about, I've seen a pretty good selection among the stores I've been to.  I usually don't have a problem finding what game I want for my system unless it's very popular at the moment and it's sold out.

I much prefer Nintendo make hardware that having to buy several systems (like Sega).

People, Nintendo needs a large numnber of GameCubes out there.  Yes, you should care.

No I should not.  Yes, Nintendo needs to get more of its products out and sold.  What am I going to do?  Run out there madly and buy lots and lots of Nintendo products that I really don't need?  (I'm sorry but I'm a more selective gamer than most)  And sorry Jarob, I don't care to keep up with petty statistics like sales figures.  I prefer to enjoy my Nintendo games...

Who cares about sales?!  My goodness, this kind of news is only used by the pathetic dweebs who try to 1up one another constantly about which system they have is the best.  Just like all the others before me have already stated, it's Sony doing what any other respectable company would do: boast about its "superiority" over its competition.

Oooo!  I might burn a few dollars to play a demo of VJ.  Hopefully it plays as good as it looks.

Finally!  No more need for link cables!

Hmm, wireless GBA playing would be nice.  I might buy it if the merchandise wouldn't be prohibitively expensive!

Who knows?  Just have to wait and see.

lol That website does provide a few laughs.  Just like the ninja has said, no wonder "that the majority of visitors play Xbox the most..."

Ugh...I'm sorry but it's way past time that Sonic's grave in TV to be done.  I have seen them all come and go and not one of them impressed me.  Oh well, let it come and go the way of rerun oblivion like all the other Sonic cartoons...I think I'll go play the original Sonic on my old Genesis for a while and mourn.

We just have to wait and see what happens.

Being the loyal Nintendo goomba that I am, I hope PSP crashes and burns like the Gamegear in the long run.
(I still have my sister's Gamegear collecting dust that she gave me years ago.  If l feel like wasting batteries, I'll sometimes play it.)

But that's just me!

Sheesh!  I'm not gonna buy one because I have a GBA already.  Mine's limited edition platinum ^_^

But I don't think SP is a waste.<_<

TalkBack / Metroid Prime 2 Poll at Nintendo.com
« on: April 09, 2003, 09:42:41 PM »
At the time I am typing this message, multiplayer is still at 1st place with longer, harder in 2nd, side-scrolling 3rd and connectivity in dead last.

I choose longer and harder.  Nothing like increasing the amount of skill and problem-solving required to beat a game to make you further believe that you earned your wins.  In the same way, I think mulitplayer is capable of that as well.  However, one member reminded me of the strain a FPS and multi would put on the game in terms of quality.  I have no objection to multiplayer because I relish the idea of someone always out there that can challenge you.  I say let's see what a sequel can do for Metroid before jumping on the idea of side-scrolling.  About connectivity, I can only wonder what ways the GBA can be used to enhance your gaming experience besides just as an item and enemy locater.  There must still be some unforseen potential that hasn't been unlocked yet.  I hope Retro and Nintendo will try and tap into it.  I would like to have longer and harder challenges, mulitplayer action and increased use of connectivity but to rank them in order of what I want the most, I place longer and harder at the top of my wish list with connectivity in 2nd and multiplayer as a distant third.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

If you think that name is bad, the new PS YuGiOh game is called Duel of the Roses (or something like that) in reference to the War of the Roses.  I'm sorry, these guys who come up with the game titles must be working themselves too hard to come up with names.  With Pokemon, you just have stones and colors.  Simplistic and practical.

Nintendo Gaming / DVD GBA

I don't think there would be a high demand for what you're suggesting.  If I want to see a movie, I would rather see it on the big screen with smuggled in snacks and drinks.  No way again am I paying $3.50 for one lousy hotdog!

I'm not a big fan of the FPS.  Metroid Prime was the first good experience I had with FPS games besides the classic Wolfenstein and Shadows of the Empire for the N64.

I know how you feel.  There was one EB store I went to and everyone working there seemed to have an X-Box controller up their rectal area.  They would be condescending toward you if you didn't know about the release dates beforehand and would seem annoyed if you ask them for anything.

TalkBack / Ed, Edd n Eddy Coming to the GBA
« on: April 08, 2003, 04:24:06 PM »
Well I sometimes watch the show.  (Hey I think their antics can be amusing sometimes)

I'm not sure I would want to buy the game though.  I have low hopes for any game based on a cartoon, to be honest.

TalkBack / Nintendo's Earnings Forecasts
« on: April 08, 2003, 04:21:40 PM »
Be all you can be in the Nintendo Marines!  ((Yeah I know the slogan I took is from the US Army not the Marines))

I would have to agree with that Nintendo could use "fresher" franchises to spark some popularity.  However, I would like to return to an era where games were a lot tougher than they once were.  I expect a challenge for my money!  Once I earn the right to play Metroid Prime on hard mode, I'll have the time of my life (well that and I might have to buy an extra controller just in case the other one...ahem...is accidently stomped on the ground mercilessly.)

Uh...nolimit?  When you mean "mature" titles, what exactly do you have in mind?  Something along the lines of Grand Theft Auto?

Sure if they go with sprites.  Well, hopefully this is only the beginning of what the GBA is capable of.

Still, they have a responsibility to bring accurate news as a website dedicated to bringing Nintendo news to readers.  But everyone makes mistakes, right?  As long as they've corrected it in the end is what counts.

Nintendo Gaming / Is Nintendo Really Smarter Than They Let On?
« on: April 04, 2003, 07:44:15 PM »
If Nintendo continues to release quality games every month, I'm sure they would have better sales (Unlike the N64 days with the cartridge based system when you might get something good twice a year).
