Nintendo Gaming / RE:Revolution vs XBOX360 vs PS3
« on: May 25, 2005, 05:40:51 PM »
It's been forever since I've posted here, but there's some new info from IGN's Revolution FAQ that should please Ian:

Q: Is Revolution "two-to-three times more powerful than GameCube"?

A: USA Today reported this news based on a comment from Nintendo of America's vice president of corporate affairs, Perrin Kaplan. The information was later determined to be false. We do not yet know how much more power Revolution wields over its predecessor.

I couldn't beat it either, when I tried it.  The ladder guys get swept away too quickly when they reached the top.  It also seemed like the enemy army was spawning too quickly.

It's being made by Yoot Saito.  I'm not entirely sure what all he's done, but I do know that he made Yoot's Tower.

I do agree on it being very original.  Probably the most original idea I saw on the showfloor.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Mario 128/WW2 at E3

Some have suggested that it could be some kind of all-in-one device that can play NES, SNES, and N64 games.  Maybe it would be just a controller like the Ique and run on some kind of discs that are smaller than the GCN's.  They could put entire libraries on the discs and sell them.  Like a Rare library, or a Square library.  It would be interesting, and I can't see anyway for anyone to complain about it (although they'll try).

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Zelda Bonus Disc....?
« on: December 26, 2003, 11:46:47 AM »
You do realize that MM is being emulated on the GC?  MM was a last gen game from the N64.  I'm surprised they have it running as good as they do or even at all.  They can't fix the problems, because the GC just isn't powerful enough to emulate the later N64 games, no matter what they do.  I mean they could tone down the graphics and remove a few system hogging effects, but you'd just complain about that too.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Potential Rebel Strike issue...
« on: October 21, 2003, 10:51:00 AM »
It's not a bug.  How should I say this?  There is a TON of stuff happening on-screen, and all of it much more intensive than Rogue Leader.  It has to load everything and that's why there's a pause.  The in-game cutscenes aren't fluent.  They usually cut between different locations and such, so it has to load something new everytime.

So at most 150,000 from Europe, and 2 from Japan.  That still undoubtedly puts them at revenue way below the line of what it takes to maintain XBox Live.  And the more people who buy it, the more games that use it, the more servers Microsoft has to make and maintain.  It will take them a long while to even break even on the project.  They probably won't even make any money off of it this generation.

That doesn't make sense though.  If two entirely different teams are creating two entirely different chips for the two consoles.  Why stop making them for either one when you're making major profits off it?  (Except for MS who will probably screw over ATI too.)

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Donkey "Konga" Details

Uh, yeah... I'll just wait on an official confirmation.  Let's just say that wasn't the most convincing article in the world.

Someone suggested that one of the GC games could be Skies of Arcadia 2.  That should at least be to the point that they could show something or at least announce it, officially.

General Gaming / RE:psp specs revealed
« on: August 02, 2003, 05:29:48 PM »
Because (like the PS2) it will have amazing specs that should blow the competition out of the water, but they use the worst, cruddiest, most unwieldy design for the innards, that they probably won't even be able to get N64 graphics out of it.

Exactly, all the specs by themselves sound great, but when you try to put them together into a plausible handheld they just fall apart.  I wouldn't be surprised if this is the usual Sony "1 million times as powerul, and running off a human brain" thing again.  They're probably going to majorly cut back on the specs before this thing sees release, and by that time Nintendo will have their's out.  Which if history is to be trusted will outperform Sony's spec heavy monstrousity.

Actually, Overworks said in an interview that they are currently in the development stages of a second Skies of Arcadia, but didn't mention anything else.

I'm pretty sure Romero had nothing to do with Deus Ex.  Warren Spector was the head of Deus Ex in entirely seperate studio from Romero.

Nintendo Gaming / Just Finished Eternal Darkness. WOW!
« on: July 11, 2003, 10:30:02 AM »
Nope, in the US.  I saw tons of ads for ED.  Some on cable some on the network channels.  For a while, they were playing them at least once during every show.

Or just maybe, the parts shown in the trailer had been worked on more than the parts in the demo that the screenshots were taken from.  It could be anything, but since all they have to do from now until release is work on polishing up the graphics, I'm sure we have nothing to worry about.

It's also interesting to note that the ship he's standing on is flying.  You'd think the blasters IN the ship would be better for taking down aircraft.

There was actually a little FMV here and there of some live action stuff, but it was completely unnecessary.  I say they should do it entirely in game with no FMV.  Since voices aren't a problem for Nintendo, they can free up a lot of room and probably fit it on one disk.

The japanese voice actor died not the american one.

I believe SK stated that they've been devoting a small amount of their resources towards Too Human since way back when they started on it all the way up to during the devolopment on ED.

I don't know how many times it can be said, but:

ZOONAMI IS NOT WORKING ON AN FPS.  THE HEADS OF THE COMPANY THEMSELVES HAVE STATED THIS SO THERE IS NO SPECULATION.

Nintendo Gaming / P.No.3 Comng Out in PS2 too ???
« on: March 15, 2003, 04:39:37 AM »
It says PN03 at the end of the commercial not PS2.  Please stop hearing things.

They won't even start considering to port any of the games until at least after they are released, if they even consider porting them at all.

Woohoo!!  There actually making a second one, and if there still going to make a second Rez game after it sold so poorly, we should see SoA2 on the Gamecube.

TalkBack / Metal Gear Solid on GameCube - CONFIRMED

Gaming-age most likely got it from the same source, so they just made up the part about it being multiplatform.  In fact the person working for Konami on their forums basically said that it will probably be exclusive, and that's all we've heard on it's platform.
