Nintendo Gaming / RE:Soul Calibur 2
« on: August 27, 2003, 06:54:16 PM »
I'm not so sure the Xbox version has better graphics. Here's a quote from IGN's review:

"And the GameCube build runs smoothest of the three, according to our own head-to-head, and also features crisp progressive scan support and even a 16x9 widescreen function."

I've seen both versions in action and the Cube version looks EVERY bit as good as the Xbox version to me.

Nintendo Gaming / Release Date?
« on: March 24, 2003, 03:13:29 PM »
Well my store (Gamestop) had a little party tonite for the big release. Our manager didn't get back with the shipment until like 7:30 pm, almost 2 hours later than we had told our pre-order customers (doh!) but it was still a good time. We had green and gold balloons and lots and lots of tasty snacks. I played some GBA with a couple of the customers when I wasn't bagging games and guides. All in all it was a pretty cool launch.

Nintendo Gaming / Release Date?

I can tell you guys that our Gamestop will be getting Zelda Monday night. Our manager is physically driving to the airport to pickup the shipment. We should have it about 6:30 or 7:00 pm. Obviously this will vary from store to store.

TalkBack / SP Headphone Adapter MIA?
« on: March 23, 2003, 04:22:44 AM »
I guess there's no need to curse Nintendo for their poor design if there is a set of headphones that will work without the adaptor. I've been meaning to subscribe to Nintendo Power anyway so it works out pretty good.

Nintendo Gaming / SP early at Walmart?
« on: March 20, 2003, 04:03:28 PM »
I can tell you that the Gamestop stores, at least in my district, were selling the SP tonite but only to those who had pre-ordered (which accounted for our entire shipment anyway). It was a frustrating day. We got the shipment at about 2 pm, later than most of our other stores. At first we were told by our DM that we would not be breaking the street date. Then we got a call later that we could call the pre-order people and tell them they could pick up their SP tomorrow. Then we got another call and were told to just go ahead and let people get them tonite. Talk about organized confusion. In any case, you should have little problem buying an SP tomorrow (unless of course they are already sold out).  Anyway, I got mine.

They ahve these thigns everywhere.

Best Buy, CompUSA, EBGames... any game retailer.

I highly doubt there will be any noticeable difference (if any) between the the s-video adapters.   You could always buy the $50+ or whatever the price is for the Gamecube monster cables, but trust me... you're not going to see a difference.

The Monster s-video cable is down to $30 at Gamestop. That will give you the best possible picture short of Nintendo's own component cable. Accept nothing less for true videophile quality. Of course if you have a crappy TV, then you might as well just get whatever cable is cheapest.

Nintendo Gaming / Where to import GBA SP from?
« on: February 20, 2003, 03:32:52 PM »
I'm not sure if i should be posting this here or in the Import Gaming forum. But anyway, what site would you recommend for ordering the SP? Who is the most reliable/best price? Thanks.
