Nintendo Gaming / RE:NES GBA SP concept image
« on: March 09, 2004, 07:43:22 PM »
Please don't directly link to images if they are not on your own bandwidth. - Bloodworth

If you check with that image, the color of the bolt on the hinge is the darker color of the halftone. Also, if you look at the SP, the screen half looks like it can be 2 colors its self, with 2 different parts. Also, notice that the Nintendo logo on the  back of the screen face is a unique color as well. Red (or grey) anyone?

General Chat / Want EarthBound/Mother 1+2 for North America?
« on: June 24, 2003, 07:10:42 AM »
It's not a petition if you looked at it. This is just telling fans of EarthBound that there are other fans of this franchise telling Nintendo under their own will to call Nintendo to tell them that they want to see Earthbound on GBA here in the states.

The timing is due to the release of the game in Japan. This is voicing your own opinion to Nintendo and not just a "name" signing some online jumblygoo with an Internet nick. This is legitimate and I know for a fact from a voice in Nintendo that this is one of the most effective ways to get their attention on games like this.

Who doesnt want to see one of the best RPG's on GBA!

Anyways its working and Nintendo is responding to the fans calling in.

General Chat / Want EarthBound/Mother 1+2 for North America?

PK CALL' N

June 20th - June 27th

This is the EarthBound fanbase's efforts to get Nintendo of America's attention so that they will recognize the franchise's popularity in order for them to bring the GBA port Mother 1+2 and the future Mother 3 to North America.

This is one of the most effective ways of getting Nintendo's attention and there have been results of acts such as this that have been positive such as the Zelda Bonus disc. Only an estimated 500 people called Nintendo asking them to port it over to North America, and it worked. I know for a fact that this is one of the best ways of getting Nintendo's attention.

We as EarthBound and RPG fans must act together as group and in a professional matter towards Nintendo to garner the respect and attention that we need to to take this community effort seriously. The impact to Nintendo will send a clear message that we truly want Mother 1+2 and 3 for our GBA's.

Several sites have already listed this as news and are supporitng the effort such as Nintendojo, Slashdot and RPG classics have both supported our efforts. This isnt a petition, but a reminder to fans of this franchise that if you want the game, you have to do your part and tell Nintendo you want it.

SPREAD THE WORD!!

Nintendo Gaming / Starcraft: Ghost? For GCN?
« on: May 13, 2003, 09:48:37 PM »
Im getting the impression that StarCraft Ghost is like what MS did with Splinter Cell, pay some exclusive rights to get it out first for their system. I dont see it at all on Nintendo's website, even on their third party list for the GCN upcoming software. can anyone shed some light on this for me?

I see that IGN has across the board Ghost coverage, but I am suspicious about another MS temporary exclusive.

TalkBack / Mother 1 + 2 Announced!
« on: April 20, 2003, 10:28:24 PM »
Unfortunately, The EarthBound/Mother series is totally up to Shigesato Itoi. He makes all the calls and he has the partial rights to the series. He is the one that saids if there is going to be another EarthBound game. Itoi decided to do a re-release of mother1+2 because they are old games and many people dont have famicom or super famicoms and he wanted people to experience that again, and a new format (the GBA) that he thinks would be great for the series.

Also, from the pressure of the fans for mother 3, he decided to bring mother 3 out of the grave, but in a new form. Because Itoi wants to include as MUCH story as possible, and 3-D development will most likely slow it down, much like the EB64, so he went with GBA. It would be very interesting to see Mother 4/EarthBound 3 in a 3-D form and maybe the engine developed on the N64 mother3 version may be used, but it is a far far hope.

For now, I am just glad that mother3 is coming out so we can expereince the story, and I hope at least that the development team takes the franchise up another step in graphics for the goodness of newcomers looking at the series. I know the EarthBound/Mother series isnt a graphicly concentrated game, but I want this series to gain more fans and have a little more justice done to it besides than just grahpic reviews.

Serial port 2 will most likely be the wireless LAN mod that has been talked about, but I guessing that it may stick out on the side or not. Im not sure the size and the necessary area for a wireless LAN device.

Since I cant post in the GBA forum about this, Starmen.net has posted a TRANSLATED VERSION of the commercial. I work for Starmen.net and asked the webmaster of starmen.net if I could link to the site (and said it was ok) and if Billy posts about the SM.N, I believe its ok Enjoy the new TRANSLATED MOVIE AND SCREENSHOTS!

The Mother/EarthBound news is GBA and you can check it out HERE. I sure hope that Mother 3 will be as good as everyone is expecting!!!

Nintendo Gaming / MOTHER(EARTHBOUND) - 1,2 & likely 3 for GBA
« on: April 14, 2003, 11:39:13 AM »
Billy posted this earlier with the commercial, but there is some additional news as well that the commercial has been TRANSLATED!! Starmen.net has recently TRANSLATED the commercial and you can now figure out what it means and saids. There are also screenshots and other stuff as well. PGC has been credited as a source.

According to a translation done by Starmen.net and other sites as well, the last caption in the movie state that "We're making MOTHER 3 for Gameboy Advance Too." Wonder what to make of this?

IGN does not know all. Just because Peer of IGN saids no doesn't mean he knows if there is anything going on. I guarantee you that you will see a new incarnation of the mother series within the next month. I garantee to the Nth degree. The EarthBound/Mother series is coming back. As much time and money they put into that game, the RPG lovers in japan, the publicity it got in SSBM, and the numerous news from Quiter (Quiter said that they garantee it to be there at E3) and even recently, Nintendo of Japan recently released its spring 2003 edition of the Nintendo book. In there are Mr. Saturn stickers included. For you that dont know, Mr Saturn is a trademark character of the EarthBound series

Check out the image HERE

This is something that Starmen.net brought to my atttention. The original source is The Deep Sigh of Sisyphos.
With all these rumors (Mother 3/EB news here)and Quiter being pretty assured that there is another Mother/EarthBound on its way showing its head soon, and now this, and Quiter talking about mother's appearance in the next nintendo dream and this official piece of media from NOJ themselves, yeah, Im pretty sure that there is EarthBound in one way or another coming soon.  Do I think IGN is wrong,...  oh yeah!

Nintendo Gaming / How Do I get this?!!!

I was wondering as well. Im noticing alot of gaming media sites and other people such as store managers of some places are receiving these. I also saw one in the glass case from one of rick pictures from his recent tour of the north bend. What's up with these Link figures and how can one get one?

Nintendo Gaming / Sigh, some biassed Nintendo Bashing!
« on: March 16, 2003, 05:28:45 PM »
I understand this rehashing thing, but it is hard to actually understand it for most people here who are big on much of anything that nintendo makes. Innovative (in story design and game mechanics as well as new series and new angles), yes, I agree nintendo needs to study a little more in that department with the franchises, but the marure thing sounds like his preference being advertised there. That is something that nintendo can look into, but Nintendo has this formula now with new POV's on old games like Metroid, and Zelda. I love my GC to death, but this is something Nintendo should look into instead of mimicking some of the old formulas to give things a new mix and a new experience instead of reliving the same general adventure. Again, I love all these nintendo sequels to their franchises and I love reliving this, I am not complaining, but it would be cool to see something new and fresh.

I have everthing EXCEPT that diskun trophy. What is the best way to get all the bonuses in the game to get the diskun trophy? I have had massive multiplayer games, numerous times and I know which bonuses I need, but its hard to get them and I am not fully aware of all the settings you have to have to get such bonuses. Anyone here know what to do or where to go?

Nintendo Gaming / Earthbound 2 Coming?
« on: March 07, 2003, 08:17:18 AM »
I just discovered through a friend of mine who is a Japanese translator that the shirt was released to a few press memebers right before the potential release of EarthBound64, so its old news, but it is kind of ironic that it is reported in the hubbub of all this Mother/Earthbound sequel news.

Nintendo Gaming / Earthbound 2 Coming?
« on: March 06, 2003, 11:46:38 AM »
Jonk here from Starmen.net. I was the guy who found this shirt on a Japanese website and we have even more info. This is an article I quickly wrote from collected pieces of information from the past 8 months on Mother3. It's ok for any of the staffers at PlanetGamecabe to use this article by me for their own to report on or use since they are nice guys. I would prefer Mike Sklens or Billy B to post on it though.

Here is the Rumor and News Wrap up.

I hope there is something to report with all this info. As with the new info, we received an e-mail from the person (soul4ger at GamesAreFun.com) who got the source from people who work at Nintendo. You can check out the letter on the main page of Starmen.net (don't worry, I already asked the webmaster if it was ok to talk about it here). The gist of what the letter saids is that three different sources, his Nintendo source, Quiter's Source and EGM's John Ricciardi all say that there is DEFINITELY another mother/earthbound game in the works at least and many of them say more than one which means one for GC and GBA. You will have to read the whole letter yourself to get the full message. I hope all this information is useful somehow to all the PGC'ers and EarthBound fans out there

Nintendo Gaming / What are the plans for Serial Port #2?
« on: February 27, 2003, 07:09:52 AM »
I believe that serial port 2 is for an adapter for networking capabilities that have been talked about from cube to cube. Like the X-box, this is a way to network cubes to play with one another. This is only a guess, but a recent report that I can not remember where it was but can remember reading, it was talking about networking cubes. This also discussed along with Nintendo's possible online plans. Maybe the modem (BB or 56k) can be the networking adapter between cubes. I really don't know how that works.

I am also wondering, does the GB player that attaches to the cube have a port on the bottom of that extending further possibilities of other players (NES, SNES, DVD Player?) or another additions.

I don't know all the techs but are any of those players possible with the present cube?

I believe that it would be cool to have a New EarthBound, but we are talking about a new franchise here. Since Megamoto has done space, the jungle, and mario, I believe that it might be a RPG related to water or some sort of focusing earth element (Rock, fire, etc) The reason why I say water is that the area of underwater hasnt been touched on much in videogames and it a great new place to have an adventure. Mario Sunshine and the new Zelda start pointing towards a water element and I belive this may be leading to the project that he wants to create.

I believe the Dawg needs to rise to a level of maturity here. If you don't like what Rick Is doing, I suggest you leave. Also, remember, ITS JUST A GAME TOPIC. You don't need to cry murder for gawd sake. Rick brings you these locks for the quality of the site to not be redundant. Just repost the same message you did on the newly locked topic on the topic he points you to and quit whining. At least he mods this forum a HELL of a alot better than IGN's. The IGN forums is FULL of raving idiots and I'm underexaggerating there with IGN's Forum go'ers.  I feel like I actually have an excellent chance in this world thinking that there actually are people out there like in the IGN forum.

NWR Feedback / Fan Art?
« on: February 12, 2003, 07:46:48 PM »
I am suggesting that it might be interesting to have a fanart section for some decent art entries for art pieces that show quality and skill. It doesnt have to be large but it might bring some people in the community together to see art and also attract people to do some art, maybe even for the site.
