TalkBack / Re: Roundtable Discussion: PlayStation 4 Unveiling
« on: February 23, 2013, 03:53:42 PM »
My first console as a kid was an atari pong machine, then it was the vic-20 (commodore) and after that the c-64 and so the years go by...

But I am still very exited everytime a major console launches, (except xboxes, i just don't buy those).. and I usually pick them up after a year or so when prices have dropped and I have worked myself through the massive backlog from the generation before. But...

The ps4 left me very uninspired, I feel its nothing new about it, this kind of hd graphics we allready seen on good PCs. The media sharing just seem stupid to me, maybe since I am not really part of the youtube-generation. And facebook twitter-like integration is to me the same... why share this? My hobby? My preccious private time waster?

I think the wiiU seems a more visionary console, I am just sorry nintendo couldnt bother stuffing more horsepower in it. After all, throughout my life as a gamer its the visionary and new, and exciting stuff thats been driving it all.

Maybe Im just too old to care, after all, my first modem had me dial a number on the telephone and then put the phone down on on the modems microphone so I could download that chess game, and after two hours waiting, well it sucked.

I want newer things, like nintendo newer.

TalkBack / Re: Dead or Alive Dimensions Banned in Sweden
« on: May 22, 2011, 01:56:44 PM »
Being swedish I would like say something about this.

Sweden has rather strict laws against child pornography,  and that is great and I am all for it, but...

But in recent times people have been brought to court just for owning manga picturing young cartoon characters in some kind of sexual context, and this has gone so far that artists are scared of how their art is being interpreted and so on. Right now displaying classic art picturing naked kids could be subject for police arrests.

Some guy at a free speech forum decided he would report this game and the distributor to the police just to show how out of hand and stupid the law has become.

the swedish distributor got cold feet and decided to pull the game, so at this time we will not see a court decide if video game characters are child porn or not.

Sweden really needs to test a case like this in high court, otherwise people, filmmakers, artists or video game makers will continue to be very nervous and we are back in eighties crazy censorship times all again.

The game is in no way child porn, hell, I even own a dead or alive game, I wish a court could decide upon this once for all, so I don't have to worry the police to come and arrest me for owning pedo-porn, but I guess nintendo sweden didnt want their product to be the subject for such legal experiment.

I don't think this psp phone is any good idea, I mean, people want to change phone like twice a year it seems, this phone/game will get out of style very fast, the phone market is crazy fast.

Buy a phone today and it seems like a dinosaur six months from now.

NWR Feedback / Re: NWR 2.0 bugs
« on: July 06, 2010, 04:48:20 AM »
I have a problem.  Whenever I klick a link to the podcast, rfn #200 from the news page for example, the page starts to load but hangs, looking at the small border bottom of IE it says loading 13 objects, but it just stalls there.

Im on a acer netboook, internet explorer 8, and 7mbit 3g mobile broadband. -no problems otherwise, anywhere. -Im in my summer cabin so I cant test it on a "real" computor.

..oh, and the nintendoworldreport 2.0 is just beautiful! ....i love it, except for the above mentioned.

I suggest calling ninty, from my experiences with them here in sweden they are nice people and usually knows their stuff.

...just don't forget to delete homebrew channel before sending it in, i did, and it did cost me dearly, I had the pixel problem and if it hadent been for me hacking the console they would have fixed it fo free.

Silly question:

How does the online competition work? I says I should connect to wii24 and wait... wait for what? Nothing happens!

Has this feature maybe not yet started? Are we waiting for the americans?

Anyway, I think it is a solid MK game, online works like a charm, it looks good,me and girlfriend played it a lot this weekend... I give it a 8/10

I use the remote but without the wheel  ...good control I think after getting used to it.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: wiiware pricing announced in japan
« on: March 13, 2008, 05:46:18 AM »
Hmm... the Japan launch has about $80 worth of Wii Ware games, and I only have $50 budgeted for the American launch... I need to save up more money...

I would be more worried about where to store them, rather than afford them.
