I ordered mine May, 8.  It was listed on the home page for the Gamecube section.  I'm kinda glad I went ahead and got it when I did.  So far it looks like Nintendo is doing something stupid again.  I guess they think no one already owns a Gamecube.

Use "GRIND" on the rocks that raise up and they will drop down again and you can use them as stepping stones.  You can raise them again by stepping on the switch again.

I must be one of the lucky ones because I got my demo disk today, ordered it from EBgames.com about a week ago.

Viewtiful Joe is interesting but the control set up will take me some use to, don't know yet if I will buy it.  It plays smoothly and the graphics are astondingly perfect.  I got to the gunslinger guy but couldn't get past him

Soul Calibur 2 is great, I already pre-ordered my copy even though the last fighting game I have played was Killer Instinct Gold on the N64.  I never played a "3-D" fighting game and without any previous knowledge of how to play this game and without any instruction on how to perform special moves I just went wild and got past several fighters but couldn't get past Voldo (sp?)  Looking forward to this one.

Billy Hatcher.  The demo was short but fun, I played it twice and will probably get this when it comes out.  It's cute but not in a bad way.  When he does his egg echo he makes a cock-a-doodle-do sound that made me smile.  A lot better than I was expecting.

These were the only demos I played.

Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask underwent four title changes can you name one of them?

Wasn't it originally referred to as The Legend of Zelda: Gaiden? or something like that when it was first announced?

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages.  The Goron Dance to be specific.  Being partially deaf made this puzzle near impossible for me because you have to listen for the sound to tell you when you need to press the button to do the next dance move.  I spent more time on that part than both Oracle games combined.  I almost destroyed both my GBC and Oracle of Ages game because It was so damn frustrating.  I am all for demanding puzzles, but something like that should not be in a game where.  No puzzle in a game should require a player to hear what is going on (especially a Gameboy game.), it's insensitive.

Because they are bloody lazy.  But there is going to be a load of extras thrown in to at least give the game some new life.  Hopefully after this new entry in the Advance series Nintendo will discontinue it and finally give us a new Mario game.  But it will be strange having Advance 1, 2 and then 4.  I hated Yoshi's Island on the SNES, refused to get it again on GBA just because it was part of a series.

This would effectively reduce their gaming library back to square one, equivalent to where Sony stands. This way, they are both on a level playing field and the PlayStation brand name can work the magic that Sony thinks it will. Unless Nintendo has a brainstorming idea to have a slot for the old GBA and GB games and another one to insert the new disc-based medium they come up with, if that is what they decide to do. That would definately make it a challenge for Sony to compete with something that has a backlog of 400+ games and new ones in 3D to match what Sony is offering.

The slot for GBA and GB games could also serve as a slot for a memory card of sorts when playing a disc-based game, thus giving the extra slot more than one use.

Well it does supposedly allow you to play the games on the Gamecube without the use of the GameBoy Player.

Sometimes you can't be so picky.  Keep waiting for the best to come around and you'll find that it never will.

General Gaming / PlayStation Portable, a serious contender to GBA?
« on: May 14, 2003, 07:01:56 AM »
Seeing how the proposed release date is more than a year away I don't see the need to get all in a panic.  Nintendo is not stupid, no matter how much some may think they are.  Companies aren't going to stop making games for the GBA in the time between because they will still want to make money.  And Nintendo did say they aren't worried which can be taken two ways, 1: Nintendo honestly doesn't think the PSP poses a threat or 2: Nintendo will release a new GameBoy system to directly challenge the PSP giving their statement of not being worried more substance.

LOS ANGELES (CNN/Money) - Sony threw the gaming industry a curve Wednesday, announcing plans to launch a portable gaming system, which will compete directly with Nintendo's GameBoy Advance.

Nintendo Gaming / Super Mario Advance 4 will be...
« on: May 13, 2003, 04:30:44 AM »
The other game being Yoshi's Story.

I am more interested in Mario & Luigi, which is rumored to be a RPG game, maybe the 3rd game in the Mario RPG series?

3216
Doing that wouldn't help me because I haven't had to visit a sanctum so far in the game.  But I keep two running save files so I always have one to use as back up if I get stuck or forgot to get something that I might not be able to get again.  But at least I know not to do what you did.  I am at the part where I go to the Shaman Village, but I haven't played in a couple days because I had to play the new Castlevania game to completion and now I am more than halfway through with Shining Soul.

General Gaming / Controller Evolution: Is It Necessary?

No, it's not necessary.  Sony has shown this with Dualshock.  It worked for PS1, itis working for PS2, and I'd bet that it'll be used and work for PS3.  Another thing nice about using the same controller is that older ones work with the new systems.  Good stuff.

If Nintendo did this they would be ridiculed.  But Sony does it and it's like innovative or something.  There is a double standard in the industry.  Nintendo could do something and get lambasted for it, then Sony go and do the same exact thing and get acclaim for it.

Nintendo Gaming / castlevania: aria of sorrow
« on: May 10, 2003, 04:54:08 PM »
I really enjoyed this game, just like I did the previous one.  I liked the way the story was done and the direction it took near the end.  I beat it today with 100% map but not all the souls, but did have the three necessary to get the real ending.  AoS was different enough from the previous Castlevania's but not so different that it wasn't the same.  Now I must wait for the next Castlevania game.

You've met up with Issac and his party right?  You can't update your game once they join you.

Nintendo Gaming / Forbidden Area: Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow?
« on: May 10, 2003, 06:16:35 AM »
I found out.  You need "Undine" soul and one of the transforming souls such as "Curly", activate both on the left side of the screen and move through the waterfall and then you are in the Forbidden Area.

Nintendo Gaming / Forbidden Area: Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow?

I am 95.1 % complete and at the end, but how do i enter this area?   Forbidden Area

It's the area that is gonna be on the very bottom right part of the map under the Study and right of the Underground Reservoir, a water fall knocks me back when I try to get through at the right and coming off the study a wall blocks the path and on the other side of the screen is a switch but how do I press it.

Possible Spoiler:
Also, for those that don't know, to get the "Legion" soul, you must knock off the entire shell (4 pieces) then destroy the core, other wise you won't get it.

It is.  And it's not so easy that you will breeze through the game (like Final Fantasy X).  If you aren't careful about how you play you will be handed your ass quite often.  I can't wait for Episode 2 to come out.

For as much as Fable is supposed to do, potenial-wise with its far-reaching story, scope and gameplay I'll be really surprised if it comes out this year.  As much as I would like to play it this year, I would rather it be delayed until next year so it lives up to the hype that the game is garnering.
