Some of you give gamers a very bad name (although I feel it is a disgrace to be called a gamer.. or at least at our school it is).

How old would you be , son?

You say some are too old to be playing video games.  What makes you say that?
Some people have always played games and always will.  If you see it as a disgrace, good for you.  Alot of people see it being on level with watching movies or playing sports.

I think if they included exclusive madden cards , maybe some training camp mini-games, it could sway people who have a GC,PS2 and GBA to buy the GC version.  As long as the PS2 and GC both have online play.

Nintendo Gaming / Super Mario RPG 3, Any Chances??

I'd say it's probably in the pipeline.  I wouldn't at all be surprised if it's announced at E3.  Considering the big N'S recent revival of classics, i'm positive they will make another SMRPG.

I'm quite certain i read that EA said they were going to have all 3 versions of Madden online in '04.  Hopefully NHL will be online as well.  That game is only worth playing against human opponents.

In an RPG, I usually come back to towns after most every story event, to see if people say anything different.

Thats obsessive behavior.  That being said, I do that all the time!

My friend has the same opinion as you, thecubedcanuck.  It seems Metrioid is a -love it or its not your cup of brew- type of game.  I personally loved the feeling of isolation it gives you.  I even enjoyed reading all of my scans.  But i can also see its not for everyone.  Are you playing with the hint mode on or off?  I would recommend playing with it on. If its getting too boring, that'll speed things up.  Tiger Woods is great, by the way.

What a big difference between American and Japenese gamers, jeez.  649,000 debut for Dynasty Warrior 4!?  40,500 for Metroid?

Kids calling a system too kiddie...LOL.  I guess they think they're cool if they like the big bad systems.  And this survey was only 498 people!  Whats up with that>?  Give me a survey of 500,000 and i'll put some value on it.

Did you check out my site?  It's still rough around the edges[it's only been up 3 weeks], but i'm trying to start an affordable contest for people who don't want to spend $50 to submit their script to a huge site..

Yeah, I hear what you're saying, but it definately sounds like Metallica.  I listen to them all the time.  So, I 'll be aggravated if it turns out that they're fake.  As far as the 2 confirmed, they sound pretty good.   Good to hear Lars bashing those drums again.

Birthdates:

November 18, 1962- Kirk Lee Hammett

August 3, 1963- James Alan Hetfeild

December 16, 1963- Lars Ulrich

If i'm not mistaken, they will all be 40 by the end of this year. [hammett is already]

I knew they had to be in the 40 range, considering they've been around over 20 years.

I was exagerating a bit with the 40's comment, but you get what I'm saying.  They still rock hard on their worst days.  ......I downloaded a song called 'Hunger'.  Does anyone know if thats on the new album?  It says it's Megadeth and Metallica, but I only hear Hetfield singing.  Maybe Mustaine on guitar?  At any rate, the song is great.  Another one is 'sleeping peace'.

Why do people think that creativity can only be inspired by drugs? It's possible, but I've never taken a drug in my life and you should see some of the crap I make up.

It's because people who do acid hallucinate and see things nobody else sees.  The statement 'was he on crack when he made this?' is taken much to literally.  It means it's amazingly bizarre and imaginative.  Not that we think Miyamato-san is actually on drugs.  Understand?

The point I'm trying to make is that all games are at home with Nintendo fans, not just the 'E' rated.  If its good, for the most part, people will buy it.

5)"a disney movie on crack"? Im pretty sure most Disney movies were made while on crack

Actually, i believe it's acid.   Speaking of acid, I always said Super Mario Bros. was definately conceived while under the influence of something, i'm guessing mushrooms!  Think about some of the creatures in the Mario series.  As for LINK, I don't mind the look, and it looks downright beautiful in motion.  But I think 'A Link to the past' was a beautiful game as well.  It's about being engulfed into the game that makes it great.  Get over graphics children, that's not what makes games memorable.

Rick, please clear this up really quick and correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the majority demographic on GameCube a "young" one? I mean, isn't that why games like RE and ED didn't quite sell as well as people expected? Okay, that may not be true, but a developer saying that releasing a General Audience game on GameCube is a smart move shouldn't be an inflammatory statement

As far as i'm concerned, the demographic is only slightly different for all 3 systems. As far as RE, I think it sold pretty well.  Capcom didn't expect huge numbers.  ED, being a new franchise, didn't sell as much as it should have, but if there was a sequal it would sell quite well.   Mr. Embery didn't say 'General Audience', which would be perfectly acceptable.  He specifically said 'younger gamers', which does not infer a General Audience.   No complaint on the actual game being released was ever brought up by me, so I don't know why that started.

Yea, it's promoting war in the same fashion GTA3 promotes car-jacking and Mario promotes breaking bricks with your head and ....well , you get the message.  War is here to stay people, they've been here since time began.  Just remember , a game is still a game.  Even if it did promote war, can't people stop being easily led lemmings and play the game, while holding on to their own beliefs?  Or will the game brainwash you into becoming a marine?

The point was, a large percentage of kids and teenagers play the gta series.  Just as many adults and kids enjoy Zelda.

Your quite right.  Its because people who grew up with Nintendo still support them.  Like me.  I'm old as dirt.  People my age love Nintendo.  We were in the 10-12 age group when the NES came out, and we've grown old with NIN.

Metallica have always been slow to release albums.  2 years to 3 year average[except for kill em all and lightning].  Lets give these guys a break, i mean they are in their 40's now.  They're living legends.  That being said, BOB ROCK MUST DIE!  he ruined the heavy thrash songs when he produced the Black album, which i rank 5th on their list.  Actually, 6th!  Garage days is 5th! Bob Rock actually convinced them that they "never sounded like a band", and to" cut the length of their songs" Hopefully, they can regain some magic.  Have you guys heard the metallica -mustaine collaberations yet?  If not, let me tell ya, they're heavy!
